National News Covidiots.....

Bo-Jo
1) Could have implemented restrictions on those coming in at the early stages. Missed an open sitter there (in my opinion), could have united the country with the Brexiters & remainders.
2) Went against the current concept of isolation (weeks ago) & suggested to the public that they embrace the virus; thus to build up immunities. When there was a lot of evidence that people could catch it twice
3) No tracing applied
4) Not enough testing carried out
5) No tracking of people going to the supermarkets, pharmacies, petrol station etc...

Don't get me wrong, it's hard for any leader for any country right now.
And my views have nothing to do with his personality, policies or politics prior to the global identification of the Coronavirus.

Doubt if theyre on SSP. Salary is about £55K a year basic. I think from memory its a 36hr week and about 45 days holiday.

Self isolation for Greta the tree hugger...…...permanently. We all know whats going on with global warming and don't need a school kid to tell us so.

It is incredibly easy to sit on.the sidelines and criticise isnt it?
I would guess that you could look at every single country and every single leader and come up with a list of 10 points where they could have done something 'better'.
In unchartered times, scientists disagree and whichever route was taken there would have been significant problems and issues and different people would have suffered in different ways.

Not increasingly, but yeah, easy.
I focused on Bo-Jo, as the tread is covidiots. I have & am deeply worried about this virus in the UK, where most of my family & friends live.
I can only come up with 1 point for the leader of the country I live in. Where I have already ranted on about in another thread.
My first 2 points regarding Bo-Jo were yes, in the past. But, I am hopeful that the UK implements (the other 3 points):
More testing for everybody. Also, in other areas.
Tracing of positive cases, to prevent, protect & counter.
Tracking of regular movements. Wish there was some sort of commercial integrated government app. Once you enter a supermarkets/pharmacies/petrol station, your details are extracted into an application functioned by the outlet. That tracks your duration of time in that particular place, not your purchases habits! As you exit, data logged. Bit like punching into a shift years ago.

made it into online dictionaries, with several definitions - covidiots

I am willing to step in and fill the gaps in this key worker role under those conditions, where do I apply?

We might all know what's going on. Pity the politicians are doing b****r all about it, dragging their feet as much as they can. Do I like a school kid pointing it out to them (and me)? Not particularly. Do I think she has the right and IS right to do so? Yes I sure do - she and her generation are going to live with the consequences of what is done (or not done) right now. Let's hope it isn't too late - the consequences if it is will make having to stay in your house for a few weeks and worrying about your older relatives feel like a golden era.

The only individuals who have a problem with young people being the ones to point anything out, or simply have some sort of opinion, are the ones who are insecure about the fact that they might not be as clever as children, or that they might not have an answer to the question. It’s a response that stems from fear. Anger itself is a fearful emotion.

And yet, the same so called adults who are scared of children are the people who call others snowflakes. It would be funny if it wasn’t so downright moronic.

Ant Middleton who has now removed his Instagram posts where he basically told people to ignore Government advice and instead just give Coronavirus a good kicking. Hard man!

Just watched Trump's latest press conference, he's :

- going to save 1 million US lives conveniently forgetting that 1-200,000 are going to die partly due to his inaction, what a hero.
- extending lockdown where already in place to April 30 because Easter US re-opening was 'aspirational'.....um, last week it wasn't!
- accused Governors of hoarding ventilators and others of stealing (yes, stealing!) facemasks
- said he won't introduce lockdown in other states - OMG, what could possibly go wrong
- called reporters who asked him difficult questions 'nasty' - look at your deeply unpleasant daily tweets you tosser.

It almost makes you proud of Boris which is not a phrase I've ever uttered before!

I tuned in earlier just as a wind started and he decided it was a good time to start talking about how his hair is real, and how if it wasn’t it wouldn’t be able to hold up in the breeze. Turned it straight off again.

I saw someone comment last week saying that he said that nonsense to appeal to the Evangelical base, rather than as a realistic change to life.

On the Ventilators thing, some were reportedly suddenly "found" in storage in NY and the UN suddenly "found" 250,000 masks recently. I would say this wasn't deliberate but the look isn't great depending on your politics.

Their politics now is very, very strange. Lots of people finger pointing and making stuff up.

Just as well Governers have control of a lot of the measures then. Although still nuts when the New York Governer was threatening to sue Rhode Island as they were stopping cars with New York plates and making sure they went into 14 day isolation as well as going door to door for the same reason.
