Ex Player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin

We don’t need more than four centre backs surely?
Depends on quality. Is Moore, Atkinson, Mousinho and Jones good enough to sustain another top six push? Atkinson is completely untested above the Conference, Jones is 18, Mousinho is 34 and in the final year of his playing career, and Moore looks talented but has only played half a season of league games in England. There are a lot of question marks. If Moore were injured for even 2/3 months let alone longer it suddenly looks ropey.

Atkinson played at National League level last year. Nico played a Leasing.com game and a handful of National League South games.

Unless KR has seen something seriously impressive in training, it'll be a Mous/Moore starting lineup unless we bring in a new CB.

New GK. Never been all that happy with how Eastwood doesn't control his six yard box, and very slow at distribution. (A good shot stopper though).

New RB. Long has been okay, but we need someone with a bit more attacking quality.

CB - Atkinson to replace Dickie?

2 New CM - to replace Brannagan when/if he goes and Thorne/Kelly.

2 new wide midfielders/no 10s - to replace Browne & Woodburn.

New LW - to replace Holland. This is Cooper?

2 New ST - To replace Mackie & Taylor.

So with permanent and/or loans could be 2 upgrades, 1 possible replacement, and 6 to replace those who have already depated. Therefore, up to 9 new faces in total.

GK: Archer or a young PL Loanee to pressure Eastwood
RB: Hard to say who that may be at this point but if we sold Dickie for a decent enough fee, I'd put a decent bid in for Cadden
CB: I think Atkinson is viewed as the long term replacement for Dickie. I don't think we need to spend money in that area
CM: I think Brannagan will stay and we will sign Kelly
Wide Midfielders: We have Sykes and Henry but I have a weird feeling we will be seeing Browne again
LW: Yes, Cooper is the direct replacement for Holland. Excited to see him in action!
ST: I think Taylor will be staying with us, based on what I have heard on here and the usual outlets. Agyei is ready to become the supporting striker, when called upon.

You want to go with an unfit 30 year old and a promising youngster who isn’t that young as our strikers? We need another dangerous guy, ideally someone tall

Agyei just turned 23 and he's 6ft 1. He is definitely a different threat to Taylor. Taylor scored 20 goals last season so for a player that spent spells out through injury/game management, thats pretty impressive in my opinion. If the only threat on the pitch are your strikers then you'll get found out against an organised side. Thats why players like Cadden, Browne, Henry, Cooper & Sykes are so important to our style of play.

I was under the impression that Eastwood would be leaving at the end of the season anyway, what with his family moving back up north. Eastwood had a mare in the final, I've watched loads of football since its come back and I would say in the first few games that a high percentage of games were lost by goalkeeping errors.

Eastwood is still class and I hope he stays, If he does go I'd be happy to see Archer back, not as good a shot stopper, but some of his quick distribution from the back was the start of many our attacks.

I'd hate to be in a position when we are relying on the likes of Slocombe and Buschel when no matter how good we were in attack, there was never any confidence that they'd flap at a cross, give away a pen or just decide to pass the ball to an opposing forward!!!
You forgot George Long ?

We have lost Holland, Browne, Kelly, Taylor, Mackie, Woodburn and probably Dickie. 8 new players is not far off.
But 3 of those are what KR is after and add to that possibility of Woodburn returning so effectively that would be 4

Serious question for those that have seen him play...is Atkinson really THAT good to be immediately replacing our player of the year.
I have my doubts...
Moore would replace Dickie as the main CB and Atkinson would step into the role Moore has occupied, under Dickie. And yes, he is THAT good! @Shosho, bang your video thread in here mate. He's an absolute baller; even compared to Dickie who loves to play out from the back.

You mean, he was good in the Conference.

I genuinely don’t understand how some have placed Archer on a pedestal. He was no better than Eastwood and we looked so much more assured with Eastwood between the sticks when he came back from injury.
Archer is a back up keeper at best.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if we are looking at replacing Eastwood I would hope for so much better than Archer.

They might be who he is after, but we have seen before that he doesn't always get who he wants.
Regardless of who they end up being, the number we need to bring in is around 8 to just replace those who have left, unless we are going to rely upon youngsters (and not be pushing for the playoffs).

Yes I know but he has 4 targets out of the 8 that were listed but we already have one in and possibly 2 more this week

Are there any clips of him defending? I really can't see him being as effective galloping out from the back against League One opposition with the increasing prevalence of high pressing.

I really think Mous will be playing the first few games of the season until we see where Atkinson is at.

I'm perfectly happy with Easty as our number 1, sure he's had the occasional bad game, who hasn't, but it was Moore ducking underneath the ball and leaving it that gave Easty a decision to make in a split second, but in a situation like that he can't win, as if he had stayed on his line, and the striker was through and scored, people would be saying he should've come out!

I've certainly not seen any goalkeepers at our current level who I'd rather have in goal ahead of him.

However, I do think he's been used too much, and feel Stevens should be used in all league cup and tin pot trophy games next season, as he needs the senior football experience, as nobody knows how good he really is, as he simply hasn't played enough.

I'd also like to see two quality full backs come in, as although I've been very happy with Long and Ruffels, I do feel we've been under stocked in those positions for a while, and they need proper, strong competition to keep them on their toes.

Dickie will also need to be replaced....
