How come Uruguay could not be drawn with Brazil yet Spain and Germany could?

I guess it's down to the number of European teams that qualify for the world cup to the other continents/confederations.

Bloody stupid IMO as is drawing the positions in each group.

I'm drawing the lottery tomorrow night and I'll be putting any numbers I don't like to one side.

Because there are 13 European teams and only 8 groups, so it's impossible to have 1 European team per group.

It's like a bloody game of Sudoko trying to fit the teams in the right places without constraints. Has this happened like this before? I can't remember it but haven't watched the draw for years.

Potentially Scotland or Wales in our group. But fingers crossed Ukraine dump them both out.

Got to be topping that group and then the runners up of Group A should be Ecuador or Senegal. Both beatable.
