New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I don’t think the contradiction will bother them. They’re playing politics. Oppose the plans to keep one side happy, the heads of terms will probably be agreed soon to make it look like they support the club. Classic fence sitting.

Oh it certainly won't bother him, but if his laid-bare hypocrisy becomes clear to even one more person...

My thoughts entirely sending emails just feels a waste of time
Why? It takes 20 minutes. If 500 people sent E mals it would make a big effect ( showing the strength of feeling)
Not sure that anybody behind the stadium couldn't take this short time to send a few E Mails?

Because it's very easy just to bin them without taking a blind bit of notice of them or you get 1k maybe 2k outside county hall chanting Oxford till I die they will soon take notice

I have sent my email, might be pointless but I believe you have to do as much as you. Completely agree with you though, the next council meeting needs people outside letting them know how we feel, emails alone are not going to be enough with the level of corruption that is going on here.

Don't get me wrong I've sent emails at every point in this process I just feel we need to be seen and heard now I think it's to easy for them just to ignore the email not so easy to ignore 2k people outside your place of work

Councillor Reeves speaks up again.

I would be intrigued to know what else Cllr Reeves thinks transcends party politics beyond a football stadium.

For what it's worth, I think he's right on this, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

But I'd ask everyone to please be aware that as much as the LDs and Greens are playing politics by playing their cards close to their chest and/or making statements that are most likely to keep themselves or their colleagues in post, so Labour and the Conservatives are playing politics by seizing on and trying to create division in these other parties.

Just because one 'side' is saying things we like the sound of, doesn't discount that there will be ulterior motives.

CDC planning committee will make their decision based on the planning guidelines handed down to them by the Government. If our application meets those guidelines it should be approved, if it doesn't meet them, it shouldn't be approved.

My suspicion is that the parties with the most to lose are sitting on the fence thinking it will cost them the fewest votes, and the parties with least to lose are being particularly vocal in the hope of hoovering some of those votes up.

Neither is a particularly dignified means of conducting oneself, but please remember that to the majority of them, getting votes, taking seats and getting rid of the others is their ultimate aim, and our Stadium project is just what they're currently hitching their wagons to.

Oh absolutely mate, if they thought it would cost them votes they'd say nothing I have no doubt of that!

You may well be right. I not sure how many OUFC supporters will care though?
To me Liam Walker and others have backed the stadium from day 1.
Middleton, Cant and Levy have stayed 'cautiously neutral" and Ibelieve that they have now said that they object to the planning application (?). As we all know this could mean the end of the football club.
I personally think that they have misread the room and will not forgive their parties if they contribute to the end of OUFC.
