New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

OCC meeting tomorrow, full council meeting. Dawned on me that it might be worth approaching some of the Conservative councillors to try and get something said at the meeting reference the Heads of Terms etc. The following is the response from Councillor Eddie Reeves - Leader of the opposition.

Many thanks for your email. You raise a number of good points.

Full Council agendas are tightly managed, with many of the agenda items settled two weeks prior to the date of each meeting. The opportunity for us to raise the issue of the stadium tomorrow is therefore likely to be minimal, but I will see if we can nonetheless raise it in some form.

The club’s future is an issue on which Conservative Councillors have been working closely on for years and, rest assured, we will continue raising it at all appropriate public meetings in future. Our support for OUFC, I hope, stands in stark scrutiny to some of the other parties. It is the principal club in the county and has big aspirations for its future. We must do all we reasonably can to support it.

Best,

Cllr. Eddie Reeves

Well done Manorlounger.
Any pushing of the new stadium to the Councillors can only be a good thing.

I don't really get what is to be gained by people holding off filling it in? I just don't think they have the numbers to get many people to fill the form in. The people that went out and voted were pretty much all the backing they have, the size of the opposing numbers has always been low. The new stadium is not even in Kidlington so it was hardly going to get the whole village up in arms, most of them won't even know a game is on, a lot of people are sensible enough to realise that.
Majority of people in Kidlington don't care one way or the other if the stadium is built or not in fact alot of none football fans are starting to ask if there will other things going at the Stadium like live music and nights out.

There should have been but FOSB and KPC don’t like people enjoying themselves.

It was only when I saw this from FoSB’s latest social media update that I realised that the stress had really gotten to Suzanne McIvor. It’s clearly taken its toll.

That means that 73% of all North Oxford residents are in favour. Brilliant news!

I've just submitted my comments, I was waiting for some of the objections so I could indirectly counter them.

Its not available though. It's in Oxford local plan 2040 to be developed into housing once the covenant on the land that ends in October 2026.

There is a triangle parcel of land that was once contaminated, used as a Motorcross track 20 years ago, on a main bus route and right across from a train station. Let's build there 😄
NO! There's a mouse in there

Reading the planning application comments it’s extremely heartening to see so much support for our club and the
proposed new stadium, in particular the support from Kidlington itself and the surrounding area.

It just goes to show that the previous KPC/fosb ‘poll’ was meaningless, not representative of Kidlington at all, and a complete waste of local taxpayers money.

The fact that fosb thought Kidlington taxpayers should pay their legal bill was outrageous and a huge own goal. Whoever came up with that proposal gave the local pro stadium support a massive boost.

People didn't know what they were voting for, it was poorly time. Now people have seen the plans and pledges they're overwhelmingly supportive.
