And who has consistently looked a pretty good playerIs that the same Bennett that started our last league game instead of Greg Leigh?
If you’re going to troll at least try a bit harder.
No real surprise he shouldn't of passed a medical in the first place .
Godwin is another example of medical & science department failure .Should be fit by August 2024 to start a game .
Marcus Browne failed a medical at Charlton but we sign him .Imagine the surprise again when he's injured .
Its just a reoccurring theme that needs to be addressed .
In fairness the club probably had more information about his fitness than the users of this forum when we signed himInteresting to see some of the usual suspects bemoaning a poor transfer window and complaining why we only sign crocks - from memory no one was moaning about this at the time, the forum seemed to be in collective delirium without a hint of worry.
Do love the revisionism on this forum sometimes when certain posters want to prove their opinions right.
Matete, Burey, Goodwin, Bennett, Cumming - fair to say it hasn't been the best window. Not quite one to rival Robinson's last summer window but none are nailing down a place and that includes Dale, who has probably been the best. Bennett is a good player, you can see that, but is he really going to rival Leigh when it comes down to it. Burey, who knows what's gone on there. Goodwin, probably the one we were keen to see the most but hasn't looked fit, hasn't played particularly well but has come in to a side that just don't create chances for goal scorers. Cumming, the less said the better - terrible signing.
And that we bought Dale too (didn't we?)I’ll mention Dale, who has been good and is getting better.

We have had great value from Edwards, Burey, Matete and Goodwin right. In what way? Care to elaborate?

If Des has a do or die game tomorrow then Leigh starts, simple as that. His goal threat as much as anything. He was taken out of the firing line after the Bolton game and a hectic international schedule ahead, perfectly understandable to most.
Firstly, we have a game on Friday, not tomorrow. If Des has a do or die game tomorrow then Leigh starts, simple as that. His goal threat as much as anything. He was taken out of the firing line after the Bolton game and a hectic international schedule ahead, perfectly understandable to most.
Make no mistake, Des acknowledged this game had to be won, and as a result Bennet came in because he's more solid as a traditional left back. Dick talking nonsense again.Funny you mention a ‘do or die’ game, the way you have been talking down Des’s performance, it could be argued that our game against Vale 10 days ago or so, could have been construed as ‘do or die’. Bennett started and we won 2-0.
He and Owen Dale (without knowing the cost) I expect will rank highly in our best pieces of business this season. Close to 15 new arrivals overall and I’d be surprised if they’re outside anybody’s top 5.And who has consistently looked a pretty good player

I said it over a month ago, Leigh isn't a left back in a Des team, his attacking threat is all but thwarted and should he decide the venture forward, we leave gaping holes at the back.
I’d say not being able to get Leigh a role in a side is also a sign of what a poor set up we’ve seen since Des has come in.
Why is it? Bennett is a defensively better left back than Leigh, Murphy is a better out and out winger than Leigh.
Leigh would be brilliant in a Karl Robinson team but Des likes to play with more solid full backs and an old fashioned type winger.
We had years of being moaning about playing square pegs into round holes and now you want to shoehorn Leigh in to the team even though the way we are currently playing doesn't suit his game?
