You have 3 fit strikers, oh the horror :). We have two fit strikers and that's one more than we had for the first half of the season!
The problem being Wallop that one is 38, one is 33 and the other Aaron Collins is new here and still hasnโ€™t looked like scoring. The other two have been here but Bodvarson scores rarely and Jerome hasnโ€™t scored one in the 18 months heโ€™s been here. That doesnโ€™t suggest you should be particularly scared to me? However, we do have other players that can wade in with goals so weโ€™re going to need them contributing tonight. As I said in my earlier post you may just be playing us at the right time? I hope not and that for once we actually take the chances we will definitely make. ๐Ÿฅด

Hello and welcome to the Forum. Hoping for an entertaining game tonight.

Iโ€™ll be getting to the stadium about an hour and a half before kick off. Do you think Iโ€™ll have time for a wagamamas, or does it get ridiculously busy? Or is there anywhere else youโ€™d recommend for some pre-match scran? Cheers
Cheers Tom, youโ€™d have loads of time to eat in Wagamamas and get into the ground, access is easy and you wonโ€™t be queuing. There are loads of places to eat and drink on the adjacent Retail Park and again you shouldnโ€™t have any delays. Iโ€™m just a simple Greggs pasty and cuppa cha man myself but whatever you choose, enjoy both the visit and the game (not too much though๐Ÿ˜) and have a safe journey home. ๐Ÿ‘

I was replying specifically to a post that said 'Loving the confidence' and pointed out that any positivity would be snuffed out fairly quickly by the usual parties. You quickly obliged, promptly liked by another doom and gloom merchant

I wasn't claiming things were great, I'm as disappointed as the next fan by the way things have turned out - I just like the opportunity to look forward to a game and hope we will see a turnaround in form. Not so hard is it?

It's not like I'm moaning about anything and everything, we've won something like 6 in 22 under Des and free falling. If a moan isn't warranted after that then when would any football fan have a right to a bit of a whinge ? Look at all the whinging around the board etc, I've not jumped on that bandwagon because I don't think it's particularly justified.

I will be delighted if we win tonight, I have no agenda and welcome being told at the end of May that I should have had more confidence in Des.

So how come you havenโ€™t been positive about the win on Saturday?
In fact you have done nothing but moan since and yet we are in a better position now than we were before Saturdayโ€™s game.
A win tonight and we are back in the top 6, a draw and we are level on points with Stevenage and could go in the top 6 on goal difference tomorrow if Peterborough beat them (which I think they will).

We may be a little more direct than normal given our lack of striking options which actually may be no bad thing because weโ€™ve given away so many silly goals pratting about playing out too slowly from the back against teams who press high. Letโ€™s just hope itโ€™s a good game and not spoiled by a fussy or incompetent ref as so many are. ๐Ÿ˜

Where have I heard that before?

I thought the performance - bar the last 10 minutes - was awful on Saturday, really poor. I say it how I see it, I cannot flower up that performance if I tried. Great to get that points and I think I've said that. I've also said that we are at the stage where winning is the all important but come on ! Cheltenham were dire and ultimately we were only any better than them in the last 10 minutes. If we play as badly tonight but get a point I'll probably be ecstatic, but there are still games where you expect a bit of a performance and some entertainment and Cheltenham at home falls in to that category. Bolton away is all about the result.

You're missing, what, Charles, Nlundulu & Adeboyejo?
Whilst I think everyone here would agree that we're lucky to be playing you without those three, I think we're also noticing that if we were missing three strikers like that, we'd be playing the kit man and/or the tea lady up front, not an Icelandic international who's previously scored in the Euros and a 750k new signing who was one of last year's League One top scorers!! Or in other words, you've got the sort of depth up front that other clubs in this division can only dream of!

You'll score today - we don't do clean sheets. But how dangerous we're going to be will depend on whether we take the handbrake off.
Our last two games, we played brilliantly against Pompey and lost, and pretty terribly against Cheltenham and won......so basically, who knows - pretty much anything could happen!

Nice one. Sorry about the inevitable โ€œBoltonโ€™s a s**t holeโ€ songs. We do it everywhere and itโ€™s never funny or clever.

I thought Cheltenham were alright actually. Quite a well organised side and committed. Tonight will be a different kettle of fish.

You really do contradict yourself a lot donโ€™t you.

You suggest that itโ€™s all about the points at this stage then go on and moan about the performance.
You, yourself, said before the game on Saturday that Cheltenham would be no mugs and it wouldnโ€™t be as easy as some thing. Guess what? Cheltenham were no mugs, came and parked the bus and werenโ€™t interested in allowing a football match to break out.

Youโ€™re absolutely entitled to feel however you want to.

Speaking for myself, itโ€™s not your view that I find annoying, itโ€™s the constant repetition of the same points that grates. Youโ€™re not alone in that behaviour, but at the same time as the fan base is looking for anything positive to get behind, to come on here and see the same people posting about their unhappiness over and over again is a tad disheartening.

Still, itโ€™s a forum and you have the right to do as you wish. Iโ€™m just letting you know why people may find your (and others) posts annoying to read.
There are offenders at both ends of the positive/negative spectrum and they (we) bring the worst out in each other. A lot of the posts, particularly post match, are very reactive on some things as people can often spend weeks, months or even seasons with a strong view on something and told they are ridiculous or bringing down the forum, each and every time they are proven to have had a point, it can spill over. It doesnโ€™t stop those arguing the other side from piling in and some of the names on the list of likers you got there is hilarious quite telling as they obviously feel whiter than white and less forceful with their point of view. That grinds a few gears and fuels the back and forth.

Correct.

I have to admit though that I didn't think Cheltenham would be that poor.

I guess it depends whether you view competence solely in terms of pretty, attacking football.
