It’s alright if you’re Man City.Maybe, just maybe, this ‘Man City Group’ thing isn’t the golden ticket to glory that Tim thought it was..?

I thought that Faz was involved in both of the manager recruitment?Maybe, just maybe, this ‘Man City Group’ thing isn’t the golden ticket to glory that Tim thought it was..?
I suppose the difference is we’re not actually a part of the MCG and so not benefiting financially from them (thank heavens!) We’re just snapping up young coaches that have worked within it and been indoctrinated into their ideals, and just assuming it’ll work anywhere, anyhow.Hasn't done Girona any harm either.
No way! He dumped us, even for a good financial reason. I don’t want him back I’m happy to carry on with Des.You’re telling me that if you were offered the opportunity of replacing Des Buckingham with Liam Manning right now, you wouldn’t take it ? I’d snap Mannings hand off in that scenario. We’d have an identity again and a manager who knows how to win in L1 - two things we just don’t have under Des Buckingham.

And so was Ed W and GFI thought that Faz was involved in both of the manager recruitment?
Not sure some of the players are good enough to play in the championship. I remember when we went into the old division one, it was heartbreaking when we came back down after a couple of years. We were an excellent team then but didn’t have the standard to remain in the division for too long. To me we would need to go up automatically to be good enough to stay in the championship. So perhaps we need to remain in this division for this year and get players during the summer to make a real effort next year for promotion. Des will then have a preseason and experience of division one to work on. I’m being hopeful I know but think it makes sense. In other words, stay in L1.
Fair enough.

There is no evidence to say Manning would get promoted than Des would, so your argument is useless. In other words, stay in L1.

Yeah and I’d be worth £10k a week if I scored 5 goals every game, but I don’t.Browne would probably warrant his wage if he stayed fit
We can’t spend our playing budget on long service awards.Henry has been a great servant to the club
If you base it on something other than their overall contribution, I think they’re both exceptional value for money.Murphy + Bodin are both good players for this level.
We are almost certainly paying some of their wages for them to play for someone else, which doesn’t seem the best deal.Seddon + Findlay are out on loan so we're unlikely to be paying all their wages (unless we've negotiated an awful deal)
To who?and they'll both likely be sold in the summer
To who?as I imagine will Browne
it’d be superb business to sell an out of contract player, even Kip would agree.and Henry (Henry probably released, though).
It was described as the rubble from the train wreck. The train wreck was the terrible year of form under KR.Is it really that much of a 'train wreck'?
For a couple of years I have wondered if we have a core that thinks it’s better than it isWe had a decent core
He didand Manning built ontop of that a good squad
I haven't seen many people argue that Des improved things so farwith Des adding to it
and indeed he didn’t!I'm not sure how you can say we're 'in the rubble'?
One year on £750k, get a substantial payout when you're sacked. Spend the rest of your career getting lower end Championship or L1 jobs paying you a couple hundred thousand a year.
Manning's taken a leaf out of Appleton's book!
Even the forum's Holy Trinity of Scotch Egg, Steve Gilbert and Foley wouldn't suggest that... And that's going sum...You’re telling me that if you were offered the opportunity of replacing Des Buckingham with Liam Manning right now, you wouldn’t take it ?
