So in your thinking when I go to Tesco this morning once I've paid for my groceries I can then inform the person serving me that infect their s**t they shouldn't be working there and oh your also a c**t

I'm not sticking up for anyone and agree that some of our fanbase are over the top but a grocery store assistant can't be compared to a football player lol.

Football is entertainment and people watch it to be entertained, you don't get any physical item to take home with you like you do in a supermarket. Players are on big wages too and the industry is known to be demanding.

At the end of the day fans paid good money yesterday to be served up dross. They have every right to voice their displeasure but it's the tone of how you do it that seems to be the big problem.

Agree that Browne was reasonable - at least he ran at them, unlike the rest of our team playing it backwards all the time...
And lost it with no end product! Thought he was poor again.

A lot are disputing it. I‘ve read on here in the last few days that no one will displace Harris, he‘s that good, that O’Donkor is a perfectly capable back up, that the likes of Browne, Bodin etc can provide the goals in the absence of a proper out and out number 9 and that haven‘t people seen a Manning team - strikers as such aren’t needed !

What a load of absolute tosh, I’d up the bid to £600,000 for Marriott. No team anywhere is going anywhere without a proven striker and if we leave this until the last days of August then 5 league games could have gone by and yet another season of catch up.

As for Cairon Brown, I’ve said all through last season he’s no where near good enough and people have been duped into believing he is just because he got POTY in the worst Oxford United team in the past decade. As for Long, well enough said - one and a half good seasons in the last four. Where’s the Brentford lad ?
It’s amazing that Cambridge could find a striker (Khadme -23) who gave our central defence (mainly Moore) a torrid time, put himself about, strong, knew the arts e.g. just putting enough on the defender to stop them from getting a clear clearance header/tackle, oh and scored!

Cambridge looked well organised with a number of their players looking a lot better then ours, so doesn’t bode well for us!! Things didn’t look any different from last season in terms of style of play, being out muscled in midfield, poor fullbacks, an isolated striker, not really creating good chances and only having ONE PLAN.

Fullbacks were awful, but most of us knew that beforehand, slow and predictable in midfield, Browne’s just never produces an end product, gives the ball away too often with all of the step overs etc. Why can’t we have a winger like their 17 (Saikou Janneh) Their 2 (Liam Bennett), 7 (James Broohy) and 8 (George Thomas)) basically ran the show.

I know it’s early days, so let’s hope things improve quickly, but if Cambridge are supposedly one of the weaker teams, then god help us!

I've got to admit, I was a little concerned that we only signed loans & player's on a free. You get what you pay for as they say..
It's early days we must improve .& Sharpish. Losing to a so called relegation team is not a good start, you need to be beating teams like this if you want promotion. We don't want to be playing catch up after a few games, we need to be up there all season. Oh boy it's gonna be a long season 😂😂 keep the faith 🤘🤘

Positives:

- Rodrigues was impressive in the second half, and will only get better as he adjusts to LG1 football
- Mills looked very good when he came on. The timing of his runs in behind in brilliant, shame he didn't manage to stick his chance away
- Bodin looked sharper than he did all of last season

Negatives:
- Our passing in the first half was far too slow and ponderous. It did make you question whether or not we've learned anything from our failings of the recent past
- Moore was bullied by Cambridge's CF and we lost the midfield battle, particularly in the first half
- Both of our starting wide players were largely ineffective. Browne is incredibly frustrating, imo
- Both of our full backs had poor games. Long got absolutely done defensively for their second and was poor on the ball.
- No plan B. I like that we have a philosophy and clear idea of how we want to play, but is it a bit arrogant to think we'll be able to turn up every week and play teams off the park?

Far more negatives than positives yesterday. I'm still positive about the season overall, but it's clear we still have shortcomings in the squad to address. It's very cliche, but hopefully that was a bit of a kick up everyone's a**e and we'll now go on a ten game unbeaten run 😁.

I understand but we pay our money to watch that crap. So we can say what we want. You’re gonna hear swearing at football wherever you go. What annoys me is that parents who try and stand at the top with their kids when that’s where most of the swearing takes place
But we should at least support our own players rather than shouting abuse at them. Most of us know that Long wears his heart on his sleeve and gives his all, but just shouldn’t be our first choice right back. He’s just not good enough and gets the basics wrong so many times (their second goal was caused by his schoolboy error of over committing himself, when the basic thing to do was stand goal side on their man), and then it was amazing as he scrambled hopelessly trying to get back with their man leaving him for dead. Same could be said about Brown for their first goal!

I don’t get it when fans say weak teams like this when the season has only just started. I actually thought Cambridge looked a good team and on that showing I wouldn’t consider them a relegation team, especially as a high number of their players made ours look ordinary.

I guess time will only tell!!

The team were crap, our support was dead, and the weather was terrible. I need another drink, because on that evidence it’s going to be a long season.

Our support was fantastic over 1400 fans made the trip, and effort during a pretty poor day weather wise, and we was served up a crap performance.

We make the effort, so should the players.

I keep thinking Browne is a decent player and one day he’ll click for us but that day doesn’t seem to come. Yesterday he did his usual most times he got the ball, cut inside then pass back to Brown. I get the arguments about no overlaps from Brown to support him but he could still use his speed/skill to go down the line and cross. His issue seems to be in decision making, unless he just isn’t very good after all. I’m just not sure which tbh.

Somethings got to be done about our abusive fans. The verbals Sam Long got was shocking - C words. F OFF etc. Young kids with families submitted to this. If nothing done there will be fighting between our own fans. For me, I don't want to hear it and if it carries on I'll stop going- must be others who feel the same?
Yeah, that’s really going to help the player. Were these morons pissed?

Nearly all players at this level are on a free.

And we haven't sold any players, so what cash exactly are we meant to splash?

Something else that frustrates me about Marcus Browne, is whenever he loses the ball, he rushes to get the ball back like a headless chicken, and commits a stupid foul.

He did start brightly getting past their full back, but never got it to a player for a chance at goal.
