Ex Player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin

It was clear to me that Obita was not going to usurp Ruffels at left back and he can’t go past
anyone when playing higher up the pitch which is not unnatural given the extent of having knee surgery
twice during the past three years. Can see Robinson’s thinking here.

I’ve been a bit disappointed with his final ball although he is generally nice and tidy in possession.

Wycombe handing out a contract to 2023 looks a risk.

Errrrrr.... so that’s another wide player out on top of Cooper and Clare, as well as our backup left back option.

You can only assume we have at least two players ready to come in this weekend. I’ll wait until Monday night to fully judge this.

It’s an odd season.

The proof will be in the pudding I guess depending on who we bring in. I suppose it depends on whether the amount we got for him + the quality of the player brought in is worth more than keeping him around. Have to say though, I'd rather have him in the squad than some youth team player on loan from the Premiership. I thought the experience he brought to the squad was key in turning our fortunes around. Our improvement in form almost directly correlates with his being in the squad (debut v Crewe).

2.5 year deal with .5 of it in the league above versus .5 remaining on a contract in League One and a club option for a further year.

I imagine we aren't ready to make a decision on the club option side of it yet (with half our season remaining) and once Wycombe came sniffing and were happy to pay a fee. It was probably a straight forward one, especially as we could have said no and then he signed a pre-contract agreement with them for the summer anyway.

Basically plays like a defensive wide player.

I quite liked him. He had a big of quality about him.
But he wasnt a first choice left sided midfield player and I assume was on good money.
There is always the next seasons squad number to consider I guess and it sounds like we didn't want to give him a long term contract

Yes and you don't need a defensive wide player with a back 4. I didn't rate him, the only good thing he had going for him was he is from Oxford. Next....
