I think he should accept it and he deserves it. I just think it will be quite rich if he then continues to push a narrative of "systemic white oppression" given that the Queen's father presided over the Empire.
I also question why he or any of the drivers are willing to race in Saudi Arabia next year. But that's a different point. Moral compass seems to disappear when the contractual obligations need to be met.
The list of people who've declined a knighthood is a pretty interesting bunch, though:
David Bowie, Graham Greene, Michael Faraday, Alan Bennett, Stephen Hawking, Vanessa Redgrave, Aldous Huxley, Paul Dirac, Danny Boyle etc. etc.

Fair points. But F1 isn't the only sport in Saudi. I'd love LH to decline to race, but then they already race in Bahrain, so can't see it happening.
As I mentioned above, the medals are well overdue for a rebranding.

Lyle Taylor says that there is a difference between the message they want to get across (that black lives matter) and the organisation BLM. Funny, but that's exactly what 95% of people have been saying on this thread for months!!!

Sadly the two are intrinsically linked either by the message or the media.
We would all agree that racism has no place in our society and, broadly speaking, is not tolerated by the overwhelming majority. And that is how change is made.
It isn`t made by wanton destruction and a desire to eradicate history.

Is a statue a "celebration" ? Rhodes et al actually did a lot of good for many people at the time so is it not just an acknowledgement?

If someone says "Black Lives Matter" do you take it as a statement of fact, yes obviously they do!
Or as a pseudo-political slogan based on the global movement?
Therein is the difficulty the two have insufficient differential.
Racism is wrong would be better.
Kick it Out is a great football analogy.
Rock Against Racism was another... April `78 showing my age.... Clash, X Ray Spex, Steel Pulse and enough illicit gear to sink a small country....
