I grew up supporting Sampdoria from a distance as my ‘Italian team’.
Got to see him a few times, once for Samp in the European Cup Final at Wembley. Later, as the cheating diver at the Manor!

To be fair, although Francis took the ball, he did then also take out Luca! Not a penalty but certainly not a dive either!

I saw in the news last month he had left the Italian coaching team to focus on his cancer battle.

A great footballer, who we were lucky enough to see at The Manor.
