I think its because we are further down the process road now. Just too much noise out there. It happened with Manning. Even though some lazy journalism will just pinch stories, there will be some ITK with good contacts.

Personally I would rather take someone who has managed a club at and dealt with all that comes with it. A young premier league coach is possibly more of a risk, as completely untested. Whoever we take is a gamble/risk, whether that be an experienced manager, a young untried coach, a successful...

If he gets us promoted, he will have such status! We shall call him Des Buckinghamanger, which sounds like a Dutch pornstar, but kinda works.

I think there is too much confidence in the Des Buckingham story now. Seems nailed on he will be our new manger. Much more excited by this when snakey joined us.

Re a clause, I would be surprised. Langstaff signed a new contract this year, so I suspect that he has a release clause in that. If we meet that value, then there would be nothing NC could do about it. If not, they are free to turn down any offers from us!

Not that we need him back but look at Danny Cowley's stats. Finally delivered his potential! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/notts-county/top-scorers

I just have this feeling that come Feb 1st, Notts County will absolutely hate us on another level. If Williams joins, I would expect this guy to follow in Jan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macaulay_Langstaff

Love this on Notts forum. Its essentially gone from "no chance he would go there" to "Oh s***" and they've not picked up the latest story yet! Funny comment re the lack of Des B photo:ROFLMAO: https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/topic/11458-luke-williams-oxford-utd-interest/

Looks like Wakefield, followed by, you could say, Milton Keynes for football purists as they technically stole Wimbledon.

If it is Williams then could be valuable in keeping snakey away from Ruben in January!

Well said. He did what he did, so he has to live with it.

If he goes, then he has blown his chance at establishing himself with us. Not many managers achieve promotion, but he had given himself a good opportunity here. We have it all in place for success one hopes and to walk away just seems foolish and a huge risk. As has been said, he has achieved...

Agree with UTU. It's like when you start a new relationship. You don't start saying to people "this is my wife". It takes time to build that bond. It needs to be harder to earn 'that' chant than just turning up. Plenty of other things to chant ya know!

Not getting Appleton is a missed open goal as far as I am concerned. His appointment would have galvanised the club and fan base. It may or may not have worked, who knows, but to use a football analogy, it would be like starting the game 1-0 up. But here we are and I was VERY deflated...

I was always fully behind KR, but he needed to go and yes he seems to have left a shambles. But, there are a lot of good players in there, so he has not left a poor squad, so all is not lost.

Our owner spends more time talking publicly about his old club than us. 2nd March https://onefootball.com/en/news/ex-inter-milan-president-erick-thohir-miss-inter-a-lot-but-not-thinking-about-a-return-36897737 and note this “Moreover, Inter is like a family and in order to really be part of it...

tbh that is as good a shout / reasoning as anything. If he decided he suddenly wanted to get involved then his word will be gospel as he is one of the main money men. Would explain the apparent inability to get this over the line. If so, all the previous work could be blown out of the water...

How things get twisted when it is convenient eh Big Ron? I said the first 3 were basket case clubs, i.e. Blackpool 1st time, Portsmouth and Blackburn. I think Big Ron should apply for The Sun. He'd do alright.
