Let's hope our owners give Des his well deserved sacking!

I'm firmly in the camp that he should be given more time and transfer windows to put his stamp on the team. I can see the way he wants to play, there are definitely signs of the progressive football he wants and he deserves, in my view, time to get the players in who are needed to do that. It's not his fault we only have one fit striker with no options up top other than Harris or not enough wingers in the club.

Let's hope @Royalstandard74 chooses to watch football elsewhere in future. He'll be happier, and so will the rest of us

Get your head out of the sand. Admit it, we were crap. We go on a run 4-0 Fleetwood. 4-0 Burton, 5-0 Posh. Then two home games against mediocre opposition, rather than instead of buzzing, and playing with confidence. They all s**t the bed.

They’ve bottled it, and we’ve missed our chance.

Now we have to rely on others helping us out, when we should be doing the business ourselves.

Again they s**t the bed.!

It kinda is his fault as he oversaw the last transfer window.

Evans may have jumped ship but his former team used all of the tricks in his no playbook to get the result.
We played okay but it still feels like we have the brakes on somehow.
We beat the living crap out of Boro, then somehow lose the initiative. So frustrating.
It’s not over, but it certainly feels like it tonight.

Stevens Leigh and Goodrham were shocking looked like 3 players who have never played football before

Did you actually watch the two games?

Disappointing to look back at 1 point out of 6 in final 2 home games.
We’ve been very fortunate to still be around the play offs, but haven’t got that edge that’s needed. And haven’t for a few seasons now.
Absolutely spot on and correct.

As disappointing as it is, in all honesty I don’t think any supporter could hand on heart say we’re good enough to go up this season, not with this side. We’re not a million miles off, but we are missing that extra bit of steel and that crucial cutting edge when it’s needed.

We’re consistently a 7/10 side rather than a 8 or 9/10 team that’s needed for promotion and to stand a chance of then staying up and being competitive in the Champ.

Tonight and against Lincoln we’re a nearly side, we simply don’t have the power and the right players to mount attack after attack and create waves of constant pressure and meaningful chances with players on the end of things raining in goal attempts. We’re just good in short patches and that’s the plain truth, as painful and disappointing as it may be to admit.

We also always look likely to concede a goal out of nothing at the back as we have done against many sides this season.

Anyway it’s been an enjoyable season and whilst we do still have a fair chance of the play offs, being 100% truthful we’re not really good enough to go up this time around.

Leigh was dreadful had so much space and kept passing backwards
Not been the player he was at the start of the season. Summed up his recent performances by a couple of times he was ball watching and subsequently slow to react. Not sure what has happened with him as was such a player early on.

Imagine the mentality

Your team gets a draw after being denied two clear cut penalties.

They are now in 6th place 3 point clear of a club that kicked your players off the pitch three days ago. Still wthin reach of the playoffs.

And you post that the manager has to go, after being silent in the games where your team scored 13 goals in three games without conceding

it's almost as though @Royalstandard74 and @Leysboy hate the manager more than they love the club,

Totally agree, and it's not even a particularly negative thing; I would rather we achieve promotion at an 8/9 out of 10 opposed to being promoted now and absolutely being shat all over in the champ. I think things have been looking positive from Des recently; we need to back him and give him time to see what he can really do moving forward. As I said before we were fighting a relegation battle 12 months ago compared to scrapping for a playoff spot now - anyone that's unhappy with that needs to log off frankly

teams are in 6th to 8th because they are good but not that consistent. It’s not hard to conceive of Lincoln drawing one of their remaining two games. As we can’t do anything else we might as well remain hopeful and believe we are capable of winning at Exeter more than Lincol are at Pompey.

3 pressurised games in 6 days at the end of the season was just a bit of a bridge too far this week for sharpness at both ends of the pitch.

It can still be done

I thought we were decent this evening. Should have won comfortably.
The squad was unbalanced ' as others have said, you can't go a whole season with 1 striker- we have been really lucky that Harris has remained fit all season- but he has looked shot away the last 2 games.
Mannings big mistake in my view, and Goodwin has hardly played.

Murphy excellent crosses in again. And he should have probably scored. His last game for us next week I assume.

Two shoddy results see the toxic doom and gloomers come out to wave their dicks around. Makes the forum a complete joke.

Still in the play offs, despite the fact they were telling us we were finishing mid table at best under Des.

Get a f*****g life
So would finishing just outside the playoffs be seen as better then mid table then. Glass half full. Glass half empty.

Watched the game on the box. Thought we were ok without having the nous to break down a determined side. Just wish we had a few sh1thousing midfielders like they had, and we’d be on the beach by now.

My ratings -

Cumming 6 not much to do, weak punch didn’t clear the danger leading to their goal.

Stevens 5 awful first touch throughout. At fault for their goal.

Long 6.5 Solid, heart on his sleeve performance

Brown 6 did ok but wasn’t really tested by a weak Reid.

Leigh 5.5 better going forward second half, a couple of fantastic passes but got the impression his talent is being coached out of him by being told to be overly defensive.

Rodrigues 5 didn’t do enough for me. One or two moments that’s it.

Brannagan 6 poor dead ball deliveries but passing was good. Committed but I don’t think that’s enough for our top earner.

Goodrham 6 conceded too many fouls but his closing down was excellent.

Browne 5.5 an alright first half considering he’s been out for ages. Offered width and space but I never got the impression he could put in a decent cross if he was still on the pitch now.

Harris 6 unlucky the ball didn’t quite land for him tonight. He has done better than I thought he would this season but he’s hardly going to trouble any Championship defences is he?

Murphy 7.5 full of energy, defended well when needed and some lung-bursting runs. On this form he’s the closest we’ve had to a good winger since Joey.

Des 6 needs to learn the art of playing against a team like Chavenage, he’s still learning and this half season will have prepared him well for next season.

Referee - 4 really poor positioning throughout, always seemed to have players between him and the ball at key game changing moments. Decision to award us a penalty was shocking - foul was outside the box and very soft. But he failed to give 2 stonewall pens because of his bad positions, which made me think he guessed the one he gave. Bookings were all spot on though and he spotted most petty fouls.
