Don't know how we can be so clinical in the final third on Saturday, only to be so inept on Tuesday and Friday.

Squad construction is all wrong of course. Having no pace on energy to bring on (other than Dale), and being unable to replace your #9 at all is just ridiculous. A lot of people to blame for that, including KR, Manning and Des.

Still think it's 50:50 we make it. But Stevenage were woeful, so we should be here after a comfortable win thinking it's 95:5.
You are right about the make up of the squad but that one isn't on Des. One January transfer window is not enough to get the players in needed and sort out the mess. We clearly need more pacey wingers for his system (After Robinson, I never thought I would say that)!

What about tactical changes, instead of sticking with the same routine…

Blame the officials all you want, we wasn’t good enough to break down a very poor Stevenage.
What would you have changed the tactic to? Wasn’t an issue about tactics, more about execution, we had enough chances to take the lead, just like vs Lincoln.

Injuries have limited what we’re able to do - no McEachran, McGuane, Matete or Goodwin means we’re limited in what we can do at the moment.

You can blame the manager all you want but I don’t think anyone predicted we’d be the finished article 5-6 months in. Well, apart from those that have unrealistic expectations about the manager who already want to see him sacked.

Let's face it we wouldn't be putting ourselves through this if only we'd had made some of those single points into 3 at this point in the season

Yeah, mid season we'd be... well not happy, but taking positives from that that display

Agree with second para, but mostly Robinson.

First para: they had 1 very competent defender [Italian name]; read the game, behaved like a leader, got incvolved, nasty bastard. We have nobody near his quality.

It feels like Harris has played almost every minute of every game. It’s too much, it’s clearly beginning to show.

He’s done really well, but it’s unrealistic, if not unfair to expect him to come up with the goods every game. He’s needed a break or a rest and he’s not been given one. At the vital point of the season a lack of a backup/ supporting striker is costing us.

Manning didn’t sign another striker, relying on O’Donker who wasn’t ready. Buckingham signed Goodwin who we’ve hardly seen due to injuries.

You simply can’t go through a whole season with one recognised striker.
