Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Seems odd to get so angry over someone being positive after another 4-0 win considering the amount of negative crap that has been said on this forum for months.
I’m absolutely fine with that if that’s what it was (which it wasn’t) - posted a positive summary in the match thread myself. Happy day for us. Just find it ridiculous that for both of you the first thought is to rip other posters for something they said before this game even happened and today might go some way to changing their mind on a few things. Find out first, maybe?

But hey, on the bright side, Murphy is a week closer to actually being good for a year. Think you both ought to be careful slinging the bullshit tag around. We can all be wrong.

Interesting comments considering it’s Fleetwood & Burton we’ve just smashed.

The 2 folks who constantly seem to copy one another should maybe hold off the gloating till after these next 4 actual tough games.

Just a thought.

Enjoy your evening.

The guy had come from halfway round the world, the majority of players won’t have heard of him before, so he’s probably had to work harder than most new managers in earning the trust, confidence and respect that was needed to get the performances and results out of the players. Other managers may have come in with a bit more of a known reputation, but Des has had to prove to the players that he’s up to the job and not out of his depth, all while the club mishandled the saga of his preferred assistant.

It’s taken a while but he’s changed the system and the players can see that it’s working, that’s so important, because quite frankly as a player you need to have that belief the manager/coach knows what he’s doing!
Results and performances bring that belief.

He’s certainly getting the best out of Murphy, and Harris has improved.

Three games in six days against good opposition will be tough especially if Brannigan isn’t fit, he’s hugely important.

Two back to back 4-0 wins , back in the play offs so if you can't be happy tonight when can you be as a Yellows fan ....yeswe have hard games to come but some on here only happy if we lose or struggle .

Absolutely agree, every Oxford fan should be very happy tonight. Des and the players are doing really well, no complaints. Is there really an Oxford fan out there who wants or hope we fail? There can’t be. Des deserves huge credit for this run we are on and fair play to him, if he can now guide us to wins over the bigger fish coming up then he will definitely have changed my view. I’ve never said we should be top two but I’ve always said not making the play offs would be failure - I think that’s fair from where we were when he came.

I also think fans have been entitled to moan and to doubt Des is the right man - let’s be honest, he’s stunk the place out for long periods of his tenure. I do though admire anyone who comes through adversity and turns it around. He’s well on the way to doing this and if he can complete the job there is genuine hope for the long term that we have the right man in charge.

Absolutely delighted for Des. The Bolton debacle made my eyes bleed and it was hard to find any reason to be positive after that, so kudos to him for making a couple of tough calls and getting a reaction.

I know we've only beaten what a play-off chasing team would expect to since then, but we'd only made a meal out of Cheltenham before that horror show and we were struggling - there has been a clear improvement and it's exciting to go into the last 4 games at the head of the pack and in form.

We've obviously got some tough games and Peterborough will be a much bigger test than anything we've faced in our last 4, but w're going in to it off the back of two big wins and with Murphy and Harris in great form. Right now it's in our hands and we should all be well up for the run in and dreaming of what could be. Can't wait for next Saturday.

I don’t want to get into this because I am chuffed to bits about todays results, but in all fairness if the past 5 matches had been a mix of defeats and draws, it would have been very much a case of “told you so” and criticism of the “Des love in crew”.

What goes around comes around and I suspect that if it all goes tits up from here on, you will be quite vocal about how it was always going to end like this under Des and we were foolish to dream.

But for now, let’s all enjoy how the day has panned out, how the current form is giving us a huge boost to take into the final few games (3 home games on the bounce!!! …. bloody brilliant) and dream of securing that final playoff spot.

Have a great night all.

Maybe those views would’ve surfaced and had their say but it would’ve been objective and from what I’ve observed - all the regulars and I include myself have applauded the performance today. Say we lost, I don’t think anyone, minutes after full time, would drag up their messages, call bullshit (ironically) or tag them. That’s where they’re different and deserved calling out. I’ll leave it there because as you say, the day deserves better than squabbling.

Grow up FFS.

Yep it’s pathetic little snipes at other posters. It’s all the time too.

You have the out an out positives in Egg and Gilbert. Creaming over 2 4-0 wins. Let’s see what Des comes up with from Posh,Stevenage, and Lincoln. We’ve not beaten anyone in the top six since Des arrived, but these are two posters that stuck with KR all the way up until he was fired.

I’m just pleased to see us win, and didn’t see us back in the top six again this season.

But it’s too early to be scolding people, just because they think differently to them. Anyone that goes against there view is bad.

The digs were aimed at your claims that certain players had down tools and disliked the manager, now all of a sudden they have had a change of heart.

If you are going to claim a few players are that disrespectful towards the club and fans, don’t be shocked when people call it ball s**t when it is clear that isn’t the case.

It’s amusing to see who the select few are who have got so upset over mine and SE’s posts.
