General Yesteryear

I can raise you to 10. Denis Smith, Malcolm Crosby, Paul Bodin (Billy's Dad), Phil Gray, Anton Rogan, Andy Melville, Marco Gabbiadini, Paul Kitson, Paul Simpson, Craig Short.
Phil Gray? I remember Martin Gray, but have no recollection of Phil Gray playing for us. I have Googled him, and I see he played 44 games for us between 2000-2002 but I have absolutely no memory of him at all!!!

That’s what old age does mate

I fell for the Kitson one as well. Also thought Arthur Cox had some Oxford connection. Was it the Oxford Derby Maxwell link ?

If I recall he may have scored a winner in possibly one of our few real comebacks at the kassam?
Can’t remember who it was against but think we were 2 down.

Arthur Cox has got the f***ing pox
And Newcastle are going DOWN
Going DOWN

With a slight witty variation from the London Road when Captain Bob started schmoozing Cox and they appeared together for a few games at the manor...

Arthur Cox is in our f***ing box

That was a great night in Newcastle, by the time the train got back to Oxford. I walked from the station straight to work at the car factory. I was f****d hahaha

3 from what I can see. Really liked Mick Vinter, didn't Neil Whatmore only play for us in the glorious 83/4 season? Both jettisoned after promotion in favour of Aldrige and Hamilton. Did Steve Biggins make it into League 2 in 84/5 for a handful of games? Can't remember him playing either. Team wins promotion scoring a shedload of goals, then promptly gets rid of the 3 main strikers...

Plus the Chelsea reject of course.

Whatmore was totally replaced by Hamilton. Indeed, he was sent to Burnley in part of the deal.

I've got four.
Vinter, Rhoades-Brown, Whatmore and McCulloch.
