National News The Brexit Thread 🇬🇧🇪🇺

Careful.

You’re dangerously close to blaming Brexit for a lack of wind in the U.K.
What do you know of the EU internal energy market of which we've just left? Can't have made matter better.

You are aware that gas/elec prices have surged in Europe also?

It’s getting quite tiring listening to the “you know we aren’t the only ones, right?” routine.

Yes, there are driver shortages in places other than here, but ours are proportionately the worst. Yes, there are higher energy prices elsewhere, but ours are comparatively higher. Yes, there are supply chain issues outside of the UK, but ours are the most severe.

It’s like watching somebody trying to play down losing a leg because everybody else has broken theirs. “What’s your problem? Everybody is injured!

Most people understand all of this regardless of their comments. It’s just easier to double down than admit it isn’t going well. Losing face is something Brits have never been willing to do, at virtually any cost.

Maybe I’ll have to give @SteMerritt a treat and get my £100 out again.

Yes, but our Driver Shortages, higher costs and Supply chain issues are “World Beating!!”

I absolutely get all that.

But by the same token, equally tiresome is the constant, ”Look what Brexit has done” etc etc, link after link after link of the issues doesn’t change anything, we’re not going back.

Its not great, the whole world is in a mess after the Pandemic, Brexit hasn’t helped (short term, going into long term, who knows?)

But it’s like flogging a dead horse.

What you don't expect people to talk about the effects of Brexit on a thread call "Brexit 31/1/20 🤷‍♂️" Really? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Ah, you mean the thread where put anything and everything negative about the U.K and blame it on Brexit.

I get ya.

I've found a good news story!

And it's a promise!

Come on....you must try harder than to pass off 5 years old news as a good news story for today :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

* There is a skill In picking fruit/veg.
Having picked fruit as an 20 year old for around 8 weeks , I am really not sure how you can suggest that it is skilled work (in my understanding of the term)
Unless you are suggesting that all jobs have some skill (which you could argue)
