International News George Floyd trial

With or without the media hype, I’d be very surprised to find anyone not guilty of suffocating a man for 9 minutes who wasn’t putting up a fight.
Not really sure what point you’re trying to make.
There IS actually more to it than that but ....the verdict will be murder or manslaughter.......the mob wants murder and that is what the mob will get.........either that or a verdict that will start riots ending in deaths and damage..... difficult one.

So how do you propose they solve this conundrum?

I watched the full, un-edited bodycam footage today - funny how this is only released/leaked now? The story that the mainstream media have spun, is far from the reality of what actually happened! We all know that the MSM in America and the UK love to create racial division, and this was perfect for them to do just that! I’m not defending the actions of the officers, I’m just saying that yet again, what we are lead to believe is actually quite different from reality..

George was resisting arrest for at least 15 minutes by (despite his friend pleading with him to comply because he was “going to give himself a heart attack”). He was already saying that he couldn’t breathe before the police officers apprehended him and removed him from his vehicle. Due to the fact that he said that so often, the officers called for an ambulance. He was high on meth and god knows what else, before swallowing a large bag of drugs which clearly didn’t help matters. An independent toxically report has listed overdose as his cause of death. All of the above will play into the defence and if I’m honest, I can see the officer(s) getting away with this. America will go into a meltdown like we have never seen before!

If someone is high on meth and God knows what else, and is already saying that they can't breath, it's probably not particularly wise to kneel on his neck for nearly 10 minutes!!!

What's shocking is not the msm spinning of the story, but rather than absolutely ridiculous way that some are desperate to justify the death of a man who was under police "care".

Also, two autopsies were conducted and neither found that he died as a result of an overdose.

There are 3 black men and 1 black women and 2 multi racial jurers....thats 6 guilty verdicts right there, the rest are white and i very much doubt would want to take any risk at all with the cop getting off and being unmasked.........Chauvin has absolutely NO CHANCE......seems like an arrogant cnut anyway so no-ones gonna lose sleep over it i guess......but as fair trials go ......................................:sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:
If the evidence proves this guy to be guilty then the Jury need to convict him, regardless of their own personal backgrounds.
From the footage I’ve seen, a guilty verdict would certainly not be a shock.

I assume from you’re posts you think he’s innocent?

The evidence also appears to point to murder or manslaughter and that’s what’s important here.
Imagine if it were one of your family members under the foot of the Police, there would be a public outcry for justice and rightly so.

Equally there's lots that plays into the prosecution - the fact that Chauvin apparently worked with Floyd and so could potentially know him well enough for his judgement to be clouded. He also supposedly has a history of complaints and excessive force against black people.

The question is whether it will be deemed to be sufficiently 'premeditated' to be a full blown murder charge, or whether, even with a jury, he'll get away with a manslaughter or second- or third-degree charge.

I agree also, that if he was high, the officers should have handled it differently. If someone is saying they can't breathe and is under the influence of something, what you should do in that scenario is kneel forcefully on their neck, isn't it?

Also, two autopsies were conducted and neither found that he died as a result of an overdose.

Those autopsy’s were ordered by the prosecution and the Floyd family. Are you really surprised that they reached that conclusion? Since that time, for the sake of balance, they have conducted independent autopsies. I have seen the toxicology reports and he was on enough drugs to kill an elephant. No, kneeling on him didn’t help but did that kill him? No.

If someone is high on meth, maybe don’t commit further crimes? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Just a thought...

Not to mention resist arrest several times...
It’s really quite simple, isn’t it? All of this other rubbish just distracts us from the facts:

He was a career criminal with armed robberies on his record
Off his tits on drugs
Committing a crime
Continuously refusing to comply with police orders..

But yeah, it’s racism. Ridiculous. People who fall for the obvious race bating are part of the problem!

There will be trouble whatever the verdict.

He couldn’t fight, he was handcuffed.

He was handcuffed and on the ground, a racist knelt on his neck for 9 minutes. The first witness called to the stand was a 911 dispatcher who called the sergeant of the officers on the scene out of concern over Chauvin kneeling on Floyd. In other words, she called the police on the police.

A racist? Do you have any evidence to support that absolutely ridiculous claim? No. No you dont. You’re avoiding the fact that George Floyd was also resisting arrest for 15 minutes, before he was on the ground. If he complied, this wouldn’t have happened. That woman called the police? So what. So did the shop owner. He was committing a crime and he is/was a criminal with a history of violent/gun related offences. That doesn’t fit your agenda though, does it..

I’m sorry but I don’t really have sympathy for the fact a career criminal that had held a gun to a pregnant BLACK womans belly, died while committing another crime. Black lives didn’t matter to him then, did they?

Those facts you’ve listed are in fact muddying the waters though.

Restraint isn’t a punishment. It’s a way of safely controlling someone depending on the situation.

IF the way he restrained him is fine, exactly how they’re trained to do it and a reasonable use of force then it doesn’t matter whether George Floyd had a criminal record or not. If he’d had a completely clean record it wouldn’t change whether a restraint method was reasonable or not. Likewise, someone being a questionable character doesn’t mean as a law enforcement officer you can just restrain them however you like.

Him being on drugs and saying he can’t breathe actually means they should have considered that while restraining him - unless he was a current and active threat to their safety of the safety of others, you need to consider the health of your prisoner as well.

Also the officers actions could have been racist regardless of whether George Floyd had held up a thousand black pregnant women - did the officer treat him differently/more harshly/less compassionately because he was black?

Even if George Floyd hated black people and didn’t believe in ‘Black Lives Matter’ at all, it doesn’t invalidate that movement either.

"Serve and Protect" applies equally to suspects they are arresting

"High on meth, expect death" is not a great alternative...
