I was lucky enough to get the supporters coach up to merseyside for the Tranmere game as a twelve year old. Also, as mentioned I too was almost in line with the Blackpool volley in the Beech Rd upper tier.

So many great goals, but I'd probably be in agreement with Beano's top 3 selection.

I was at Sheffield United for the win when Banger scored that free kick. It was a Friday night game for some reason?
There have been many insinuations about Nigel Jemson over the years , but I have never heard somebody being quite as clear about what they thought!
Love the stats section and I would never have believed that we have been quite so awful in the second half

Something I've learned over time, and especially from these pods is that footballers are just totally normal people who happen to be good at football, but have all the same emotions, feelings, s**t going on behind the scenes, issues etc that we all have.

Honestly, I regret giving players a hard time now, both on the terraces and in print, because I'd never say those things to their face... So why does that make it alright to shout it or type it? And if someone's playing badly, calling them every name under the sun definitely isn't going to help them or anyone.

Didn't love Nicky as a player, but he was a genuinely nice bloke.

@DanC - couldn’t agree more with your sentiments re balling out players at games. It’s lunacy. I’ve called a number of fans out this season (largely at away games as I sit around the same people most weeks at home games) and it invariably gets a sullen ‘I pay my money, player x is sh*t’ retort.

I don’t actually get so annoyed at it in forums such as this (albeit it’s not normally my style). A place like this should be for debate and we don’t need to be universally positive or in agreement here. As long as you’re not ‘@-ing’ players in their socials and spouting all manner of personal abuse, we should be able to debate performances, players etc in a respectful way.

But it will always bewilder and baffle me how anyone could pay their hard-earned money just to turn up and make themselves thoroughly miserable screaming at certain players. It was Vaulks for the first half of last season. It’s been Harris (a lot) ever since. It’s not something I’ll get on board with and you’re totally right that we need to be on the same page, supportive and positive of the players in these last five cup finals!

In our latest episode of the You are my Oxford show, I went on a bit of a rant about moaning fans, and we're getting messages from people who are sick of it too. You can see the clip above.

I really want to stress for those that comment without watching, this isn't about the collective. Our support, especially at away games, is incredible.

But why do individuals slag off our own players, either at matches or online? Who do they think it's helping? If a player is having a hard time, getting on their back sure as hell isn't going to help them.

The club released a video last week with Will Lankshear urging the fans to support the team. That doesn't just mean turning up and paying your money and cheering if/when we score. It means identifying that a player might be low on confidence. Or they might be having a hard time in their personal life. Or they might be struggling to settle at a new club in a new city. Or they might be up against a really good player that day. Or they're just having a bad game.

But getting on their back isn't going to help them. Supporting them will.

After the Hull game, Mark Harris came over to applaud the fans. He was clearly gutted having been within an inch of winning us the game. A bloke near me screamed 'don't clap that useless c***'.

What the hell is that going to achieve? Is it going to make him feel better about himself? Is it going to give him confidence to score the next one? Is it going to inspire him to do better next time? It is going to make him feel that he has to do everything for the fans.

How would you feel if everytime you made a mistake, loads of people - who are meant to be on your side - screamed abuse at you?

I took a colleague and her son to the Blackburn game - A GAME WE WON. Afterwards I asked if they enjoyed it. The game was great, she said, but why do our fans swear so much at Oxford players?

Everyone I know who goes to games hates it. It makes going to the game less fun.

We are supporters. The clue is in the name. Support your team. The 'I pay my money, it's my right to voice my opinion' argument is bullsh*t.

I know this is a minority - although it's not a tiny amount of people sadly. I stress again - our collective support is great.

But if you do it, I beg you to stop slagging off your own team.
