Oxford Utd will play Cardiff City at Ninian Park on August 17th 1974 in what is now called the Championship.
For the record Brian Heron opened the scoring in the first half for the U’s in a 1-1 draw.

True but we may well have established ourselves in the top flight rather than just staying up although the Manor and Maxwell situation would have been interesting to see what happened there .
Would the need require the council to find us a new ground, would we be attractive to other monies owners ...
 
This popped up on social media today. Keith Cassells was one of my earliest heroes. Here he is playing alongside the likes of Keegan and Channon. I remember being a young lad and heartbroken when he left (along with Mark Wright if my memory serves me well)

Keith Cassells was pretty good in the old 3rd division, but did not quite make it in the top flight. I think we bought him from Brentford.

I remember a Richard Head as a Ref in Oxfordshire in the 1990s.

That is optimistic on only taking 2 minutes and that it will successfully stay on a single sheet (more chance of each picture being over 2 or 3 sheets of paper after they jam in the printer).
