It wasn't the final game of the season, that was at home v Barnsley which we won 4-0 to claim the title. If we had won this we would have secured the title before the final home game.
I was there for this, an odd game in which Oxford just didn't play well.
Found sone photo negatives while clearing out my old man's house. Anyone able to help me identify the stadium?
(I have used an app that inverts the colours on a negative to make them look more accurate to colour)

Checking other old photos of that stadium, looks like you're spot on with that! Cracking shout!Boundary Park, Oldham.
Great sleuthing!You're spot on, Colin!
I've been racking my head all afternoon because the yellow kit didn't match the seasons when we played Oldham, plus Oldham's roof was less pitched and didn't have a valance.
I've had to flip one of @Emilio's pics around, and it's 100% Cambridge, although god knows why they are in Blue - Perhaps it was another 'Watford' scenario where we rocked up with the yellow shirts!!
Looking at the long shadows, and Oxford wearing a shirt with sans numbers, I'm going with 29 Oct 1977 - we lost 2-1
