Nicola Sturgeon knew. ‘We were high earners’ doesn’t cut it. If you don’t know that a new Jaguar and three coffee machines are incredibly expensive purchases, you are either absurdly out of touch, completely naive to what your partner earns or complicit and guilty by your own lack of questions.

Her ‘I’m the victim here’ is complete bullshit and man-blaming when there are genuine cases of misogyny out there.

Playing Devil's advocate here. Two well paid professionals in a relationship, probably with separate bank accounts, living working lives where they are probably spending significant time apart. Added in that people who do that type of crime are often incredibly manipulative and careful etc. Yes the Jag is expensive but these days people on decent salaries can afford these type of things on finance etc. Police have not taken any action against her, after interviewing her and investigating the crime. I do agree that her discussing women being blamed for mens crimes, although a real issue for many, is deflecting somewhat the current situation and is a play for sympathy. However, I honestly don't think it is that astonishing that she did not know about it. The necklace he purchased for her, for example, do we honestly think that a person in her position as leader of the SNP would be wearing it in public at events if she knew it was from money stolen from the party. We will obviously never know the truth for definite but I am prepared to go with the police outcome on this one.

I would be really surprised if she didnt have suspicions
Being a very senior person within the SNP she should have had some idea of £400k disappearing.
Whether she knew or not who knows, but I reckon somebody at that level should have had an idea/ suspicions.

Everyone knew Sturgeon was a lesbo, I knew this years ago, she also refused to answer any police questions.

Plenty of other people in the SNP knew what was going on or at least had serious concerns/suspicions and they would have spent considerably less time with him and not seen the luxury expensive items appearing. Who tried to silence the people that were concerned? If she didnt know she must be incredibly thick or was living such a luxury lifestyle that £400k worth of luxury goods didnt look out of place.
To claim to be a victim is pathetic, but then Swinney played the victim card rather than repeatedly refuse to apologise to the people that had their money stolen.
 
Didn't she over see the SNP bank account? hello a politician to the end. How much has she covered up he's obviously taken the can for her but why dreadful person by all accounts and Scotland is in a worse place than before because of her.

She really should have been one of those responsibible for overseeing the SNP finances and fir checking payments.

To some degree I suspect Murrell’s and Sturgeon’s marriage was one of convenience.

Swinney and Murrell were boyhood friends so clearly go back along way.

There appear to be reports or rumours that Murrell was suspected of stealing money from the party when he was in a much more junior role.

Apart from the actual theft itself the thing I find most damming is the reaction of the top team within the SNP when concerns about Murrell were first raised. Concerns were shouted down, people were accused of being disloyal or trouble makers. In particular Sturgeon, Swinney, Beattie all have questions to answer on that alone.

There should be a full independent inquiry into what actually happened, who knew what, emails, WhatsApp conversations between senior SNP officials should be part of that inquiry.

I simply don’t believe that nobody within the senior SNP team didn’t know, or have major concerns about about missing money.

All this crying the victim and desperately trying to distance themselves from any knowledge or suspicions is pretty pathetic, dishonest but totally expected from these Nationalist weasels.

She can swerve this on plausible deniability, I agree. She was not the one embezzling the funds and she can just about say she knew nothing about it to avoid a charge. I reckon the CPS would know the threshold wouldn’t be met to nick her (pun intended) on something.

However, to the layman and whoever has ever lived with a partner, you have some semblance of what the other is spending even if you have separate accounts. Even higher earners as Sturgeon and Murrell were (c. £250-300k pa as household income), one of you would spot if the other appeared to be purchasing a lot of stuff. You can ignore the Neutrogena handcreams and even a Dyson hairdryer (or two) for a bald man as ‘everyday’ purchases, but you cannot ignore two cars (£33k and £81k) plus a motorhome parked on his mother’s driveway (did the Sturge not visit the MIL ever?!) and not say ‘how are we paying for those?’. I appreciate they both had public service jobs and would have had PAs to sort things for them too (I can’t imagine either did the vaccing up at home and had a cleaner, gardener etc) yet even at one of the best paid political couples in the country, you’d expect both to have a handle on their finances and what looks suspicious. £81k spent at Amazon isn’t something that is an everyday occurrence.

Like I said, she’s either astonishingly naive to how much things cost and I’d advise her to go out to those on the breadline across Scotland to see what it’s like living with little, she willingly turned a blind eye or she was complicit. She’s guilty of not asking questions at the least in my view.

Her political career is done which can only be a good thing. She can spout her anti-English drivel to the handful of those who believe her teary-eyed performance as some victim of a deceptive man.

I had to do a double take upon reading this message, but yep, you definitely posted it and two people actually gave it the thumbs up.

I’m not defending her in any way, the SNP has hidden behind a veil of incompetence and corruption for the last 20 years. However, I’m sure you ‘knew’ years ago that she was a ’lesbo’ and you finish off with your usual sectarian s**t.

For a minute I thought someone had found a way of posting from 1975.

I know a lot of about this filth, I know exactly who her 'special friend' was over 10 years ago, they lived in the Bridge of Allan..

Now I have no problem with her private life, but it's an example of how these people are not who they pretend to be and have zero credibility, and I cannot stand any politicians no matter what party they represent..

I have also actually been in her company a while back.

I have made no sectarian remarks, jacobites is what they are, and hypocrites.

I read a book quite recently, the book seller of Inverness, in which the plot is about highlanders after the failed Jacobite uprising, never expected to see it used as an insult on here though, so fair play on bringing a bit of culture to the place. Excellent book if anyone likes historical crime fiction.

We musnt upset Nicola she's having a terrible time, she should also be locked up, I think i would know ,you would know it's not right she was a dreadful politician and the SNP have created massive problems in Scotland, just like Blair and they still are involved in politics making big money big pensions and have helped to bring our country down. Dreadful people
