WWC 19: France V USA 28/6/19

What do you reckon then Sarge?
You seem to have watched quite a lot. I am going for comfortable US win.
Well maybe not that comfortable, but it looks like US should win this being two up.
I have been surprised at the diving especially in the first half.
The US look very organised and fit. Is it fair to say that they look a level up from England?

They now appear to have abandoned VAR. Surely that disallowed USA goal would've been reviewed earlier in the tournement?

Yes agree.
Talk about marginal.
There have been a couple of potential penalty appeals which dontbappear to have gone to VAR as well.

Potential handball as well in the USA area. I don't think it was, but again that would definitely have been reviewed in the group stages. I'm pleased they seem to be learning, but seems a bit unfair to change the goalposts within a single tournement.

Decent game and I am glad the ref made the decisions (rather than everything being referred). What's more from what I saw the ref (and her assistants) got them all right - well done them, in a pressure situation.
I don't think the French did themselves justice - in the first game of the tournament they were great and were nowhere near as good tonight.
Tuesday's game should be a close one....

I wish the commentators would stop claiming there isn't much cheating in women's football as there was loads today.
I tend to agree.
Both teams today dived. Nothing compared to Cameroon's antics which is almost as bad as anything I have seen.
Generally the players dont abuse the referee and do just get on with the game, but there was a fair bit of diving and some feigning of injury today.
