Has anyone mentioned the FA cup 4th qualifying round THIRD replay (and extra time) between Oxford City and Alvechurch on 17th November 1971 which finished 0-0? No?
How about the FOURTH replay three days later which also ended 0-0 after extra time?

Perhaps not the best game, but certainly one of the most bizarre would be the Wimbledon game in the fog. Could only see what happened at the London Road end.

Arsenal - elation & relief.
Man United - Alex who?
Villa - Semi final (combined with the away game) - noise.
Wimbledon - fog and taking the mick that we were winning 3-1 then moving along the Osler Road to see what was going on!

Oxford 3 - 0 Wolves, Sept 1997 deserves a mention. Live game on Sky and Joey absolutely ran riot and scored two cracking goals

The Everton 1 - 0 when Les Phillips scored a late winner at the end of the season has got to be up there.

The atmosphere that night was utterly incredible with energy buzzing throughout the crowd.

Also the Swansea Cup game in our L2 promotion season under MApp. The Jonjo Shelvey mickey taking was amusing as well.

Has to be the Ipswich game or the Leeds game. Probably the Leeds game takes the edge because they fancied themselves so much.
But all the above deserve a mention. For sheer drama, also the cup win against Arsenal.

That was incredible. Best comeback I can recall. Game changed in the last twenty minutes and ended up with a last minute winner

Oxford 2 - 1 reading. My first game at the Manor. Evening kickoff. Some guy let me in front of him so I could see ( London road terrace)
Walking back to the car I remember an elderly man fell off his bike.

I’m sure I went with two Reading fans and that added a bit of spice. Didn’t Joey get a great goal

I Ended up working with the then Ox City manager many years later and we both went to the Ox City FA Vase run together which ended in a Wembley trip !
Johnny Fisher was his name now deceased.

How about the 4-2 defeat to Bolton in the FA Cup fourth round in 1954, when the great Nat Lofthouse trod the famous Manor turf? First time United had faced top flight opposition and a new record crowd in the ground

Man United 1972 ,with the likes of Bobby Charlton, Dennis law & George Best. 2-2 at the MANOR.
Also Man United again ,1974 1-0 Oxford,at the manor.Derick Clark goal.
Also beating them in the 80s in the cup & Fergies first league match .
They've got to be worthy of a mention ,with the obvious...

My favourite was the 1-0 win against Sunderland when Nobby Clarke scored a late screamer with his wrong foot.
The London Road went absolutely apesh*t.

Apart from the goal, which was excellent, I dint think it was a classic although I don't remember too much about it other than getting beaten up and having my scarf nicked by the 'Red Army' scroats.

Another game with a similar vibe was a 0-0 draw with Swindon (might have been the same season) which was shown on Match of the Day. The game was so dire that the only highlight they could find was a Derek Clarke shot that hit the bar

One night game around 1995/1996 around bonfire night. The JR or someone in Marston was having a massive firework display up behind Cuckoo Lane end and we in the London Rd were all chainting 'ooooh aaaaaaah' like a fireworks crowd used to

very funny terrace humour

Yes it was a great game in the fact that Man U were rampant that season and expected to beat Oxford, they had a new young team that was being put together after ditching the old guard who played attacking football and my memory was of end to end football, plus with the packed Manor and atmosphere i'd say it deserves to be up there.
