What Have You Been Watching Lately? (No Spoilers)

I'm really enjoying watching Homicide again. Sad about Andre Braugher.
Also how young everyone looks.
Except Ned Beatty - the episode I just watched he says he is 50 and looks years older. A bit like Cheers with Cliff Clavin, and Norm Peterson when the actors were in there 30s.
I love that Richard Belzer turns up as Detective Munch in other shows like X Files, Law and Order SVU. apparently ten different shows.

The other real twist was when when one of the characters didn't reappear after one of the series which I assumed was the actor just moving on and they had been written out. Then a couple of series later they found his skeleton/skull.
I was watching again last night and one of the characters was called Chris Novaselic. Apparently it's an Easter egg that they sneaked in grunge musicians as character names.

counting the days to April 22nd *, Andor Series 2 launches on Disney +

* Edit - decided to rewatch Andor Series 1, Series 2 now launches April 23rd

For you.
It's released at 9pm on the 22nd over here.

Disney clearly just didn't want anyone else watching it before us, because.......'Murica, or something.

Also rewatched the first season myself in preparation, and yeah, it's still so damn good. It's an HBO-quality examination of fascism, conformity and rebellion, that somehow found it's way into the Star Wars universe. The writing is amazing, and the acting is top shelf (seriously.....getting Fiona Shaw, Stellan Skarsgaard, Forrest Whittaker and Andy Serkis into the same show would be a coup regardless of the subject matter!).

I just pray the studio heads didn't meddle, left Gilroy & co. alone and that the second season will keep up the standards.

Last series isn’t it? To expensive to make.

Yep. Rumour is that it's going to finish right at the point where Rogue One starts (which of course in turn finishes right at the beginning of A New Hope).

But I don't think that's a bad thing.

It's the American TV disease that they flog any show that becomes critically or commercially successful way past its sell-by date.

Much better to have a shorter, self-contained program that maintains the same quality (as long as the writers know when it's going to end, and can plan accordingly - and Andor's team did before they started writing the second and final season).
