What can be done to market the club better?

I haven't lived in Oxfordshire for over 20 years so don't really know but if there are areas with a high proportion of foreign migrants living we could target them with specific marketing to show we are an inclusive club for all communities? They might not support an English team but love football.

Great ideas!
I remember yonks ago in Kassam's 'notes from the chairman' bit in the matchday program had him trying to mobilise the fan base into improving attendances and the atmosphere in the ground, "bring a friend" Mr Kassam prompted us from his notes....
I can't remember the opposition but as we sat gumly watching an awful game (0-0 or 0-1) in the rain another horribly miss-placed pass went out for a throw, and the hush over the east stand was broken with a cry (laced with sarcasm) from someone... "yeah, bring a frieeeeeend!"
Oh how we laughed.

Did your mum have a little glint in her eye reminiscing about these home visits from the man she called 'big Ron'?

There's a good conversation we could have on here about marketing. Not least how we could get involved and help Matt with ideas and practical support in our workplaces etc. FWIW I think the club have done a good job this year in pretty tough circumstances.
Why hasn't @Headington been banned yet?

Er What have i done Wrong?

Another new idea- how about a scheme where season ticket holders recruit new season ticket fans. Maybe 10% paid out to the existing holder

Flyers in Polish, Romanian displayed in local Polish sklep or Romanian deli. Over 20 % of the poulation of the City is black or asian but very few at matches. Try to find the reason. Lazy nowadays to say Indias or Pakistanis are just into cricketn

Headington has gone on holiday since just now. Had 2 accounts.

I am also looking into other suspects, 1 in particular shall probably not survive the day on here.

It is amusing how they think morphing into another name will make them invincible ?

And just to think it all started with ideas on the back of a vape box of How to Succeed in Marketing part 1 for anyone thinking of applying for the post when it next becomes available at OUFC or similar!

After the last 2 matches. Which must have whetted the appetite for many. The Club should email everyone on the database and offer adult tickets for a tenner on Saturday.

No OUFC marketing at the Oxford Half marathon today.

There were the usual random freebies in the finishing goodie bag. Could have easily put some info in there:-

1) Simple flier advertising 25% off Sunderland tickets.
2) ‘Golden Envelope’ one envelope in each goody bag, then in a few envelopes a golden voucher for 2 tickets. Even if it was only 10 pairs, I’m sure it would have got a few mentions over the tannoys.
3) Olly the Ox there giving some freebies / fliers out.
4) Few banners out on the course advertising next game / Sunderland game.
5) Adverts on the screens in the Park & Ride buses.

Even in the horrendous weather there were a few thousand runners and families in attendance.

For a minimal spend the club could have been visible in one of the biggest Oxford events. Missed opportunity.

EDIT
Who is best person to send ideas to at the club re stuff like this?

I’m not sure if it is a goer due to numbers, but I’d have purchased an OUFC running vest if there had have been one. A yellow / blue one with the Ox badge and maybe a charity associated with the club on it / or OUFC in the community logo etc.

The race used to start and finish at the ground before moving to a central location.

How did it go today @Eaststandboy ? Recovered yet?

Perhaps it’s time now to promote our Boxing Day home fixture and get the full house the team deserves, use every public opportunity to show and tell people about us, it’s ok to have a shop in town but people need to have to put under there noses to do anything.
