What I really don’t like is this narrative that people are making choices. It’s an illusion a lot of the time especially for those more marginalised. One bad decision can be the first domino that falls.
50% of the population have below average intelligence. Do they “deserve what they get” when they make a poorly informed decision?

I think you're lost, the brexit thread is that way

Would that be because a third party (manager making false promises) intervened?

The third party promises increased business and the content creator sees the £££ signs.

Had she operated her own account she retains control of her choices. 🤷‍♂️

Another BBC article.....

  • Losses to investment scams soared by 40% in a year, to a new record high

Promise "endless riches" and some peoples natural greed kicks in and there will always be someone to take advantage of it.

The world is not all sweetness and light and there are plenty of people more than willing to gain at a cost to others.
You either recognise that exploitation of vulnerable people is a real problem, particularly in the sex "industry" or you're an enabler and apologist for it.

Which is exactly what I typed.............. she engaged a third party to "boost her audience/income" and it went wrong.

The people willing to exploit others are in every walk of life and the individual can either avoid or mitigate the level of risk.
