Allegedly Arsenal were very keen but Spurs paid the most and offered him the most in wages. They’re flush with cash at the moment.

Good to see we're back into 'England are an irresistible force and could dominate international football for the next 10-12 years' territory.

Do we swing back to 'the manager is a clown and none of our players are world class' after the Norway game or do we wait until Argentina before that kicks back in?

While I can agree that England fans are notoriously fickle, to write such a pessimistic post after England played for their lives, beat the co hosts under difficult conditions after their fans set off fireworks outside their hotel room amongst other things is extremely unfair - the nation should be deservedly celebrating such an incredible World Cup result.

It was a wonderful performance and the team and manager totally deserve all the plaudits for that win against the odds. Personally haven't felt this happy about football for a long time - particularly after OUFC' s miserable previous season......
