Apparently a deal tomorrow. Can’t see Iran agreeing to it. Trump will spin it as a victory. Anything but…the world burns while he misbehaves

It seems Iran may agree, but perhaps not within the timeframe that Trump is touting.

Apparently, the US will collect the “nuclear dust” at a point when it “all is calm”. Bearing in mind that disabling the perceived nuclear threat was Trump’s main justification of the war in the first place, that is a remarkably subjective and conditional comment.

And it also leaves the door open for perpetual re-invasions. His mate Benny is not going to be passive about Iran and only a fool would think that this is the end. It’ll then never be “calm”, so he’ll never have to be accountable for carrying out his apparent objective.
 
Its getting hot again. To be fair the Iranians are spoiling for a fight here you cannot attack ships like was done yesterday and not expect a reaction. Do the US have the material will to finish this war? They could do they have the military capacity it would either involve boots on the ground or Gaza/Lebanon/Dresden levels of destruction. I'm ok with either so long as there is a plan and a real plan which as of yet i'm not sure there is.

If more people in positions of power were not 'ok' with 'Gaza/Lebanon levels of destruction' the world would be a much better and safer place. It's people with attitudes like yours that is the problem with the world.

How many millions of deaths would you be ok with? There was never a plan. The tail has and is wagging the dog. If you apply your own logic to bombing Gaza then you’re ok with how many dead innocent civilians are you ok with. Population of The capital of Iran is 9 million ish.

I suppose you'd be happy if the US or (more likely) Israel decided to nuke Tehran? You're probably still celebrating Hiroshima and Nagasaki (two of the greatest war crimes that never get questioned)

There is never a plan. And it always ends bad in this region. Best out of it
 
Embarrassing from both sides really. USA went into this without any real plan whilst underestimating the situation and Iran are happy to push buttons in the wider region in tit-for-tat strikes. The US with Israel's help could quite easily escalate this war significantly but ultimately know there is no clear objective if they did. Local proxies will always disrupt any peace talk progress and the US will never get a good deal out of this. It's literally the most pointless war. Trump changes his mind on the hour and his threats hold no merit and Iran can't really be trusted.

This could turn out very similar for the USA as to what Russia is experiencing. A war of huge cost and no progress with no end in sight. They may have to rely on Israel to make the next big move and go from there. Boots on the ground will never be an option for the US as it will be Vietnam 2.0 and there is nothing they can do which will defuse or end this war where both sides are happy.

It wasn't a pointless war for Trump or Netanyahu. It has gone quiet about the Epstein files for Trump and Netanyahu has always wanted to attack Iran but he needed the US. It is also beneficial for Netanyahu with his legal problems to prolong conflict.

It is also enabling greater persecution and land theft from Palestinians in the West Bank as very little attention is being shown there which suits the far right/settlers in his Govt.
