I'm fully aware of the history of WW2 and the holocaust and I never claimed that the creation of Israel was, in itself, wrong (plus, the creation of a state founded on a 'right to return' has led to huge problems is Israel, many of which are directly responsible to the land-grab and illegal settlements on the West Bank). The way it was achieved though was utterly appalling with Palestinians whose families had lived in the same place for generations evicted with no notice and their homes and land given to Jewish refugees. Two wrongs don't make a right, especially when the new settlers were massacring the Palestinians even back then to ensure they left for Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. Your comparison with the UK is both crass and irrelevant.
I don't think Trump is likely to abandon Netanyahu as he would risk losing the support of the American Jewish lobby, which is both powerful and an incredibly useful source of funds for anyone expressing pro-Israel/anti-Palestinian views.
