Going to Man U, and apparently worth 50m - including 45m up front.

Dear Lord.
I remember Kyle Walker moving for about the same a couple of years ago, and thinking 'that's a hell of a lot for a right back'.
But he at least had about 200 Premier League appearance and tens of caps for England to his name.

Wan-Bissaka has one decent season in the PL, and a handful U21 caps to his......

But apparently potential is worth 50m-plus (or about a decade worth of OUFC revenues) in the Premier League nowadays, even if you're a fullback. What a weird world top flight football has become.

You're right and the problem is that there is some effect on finances in the lower leagues. Not only transfer fees but players (especially young ones) have an inflated view of what they are worth and what their wages might/should/could be.

His last performance with the U21s was fairly poor. Can't see how he can be worth £50 million.

He has come out and said his poor performance was due to the distraction of the transfer speculation!!

I've just finished reading Neil Warnock's book (well worth a read) and in it he says that player power is at an all time high due to the stupid prices/wages players get now. He also pointed out signing players is a lot harder as teams can't get players to leave the club as they are on mega contracts which players are happy to sit on.

Just look at Sanchez at Man U and Bale at Madrid. Why would they leave if they still had years left on a massive salary (£12 million a year after tax in Sanchez's case!!).

Strangely enough, it's a very Man Utd signing of recent times. Looks great on paper but the reality is a more mixed. They need a Centre Back more than a right back - Smalling and Jones are not what you need to win the league

Heck of a fee for a full back but that’s the era we are in. If he’s the real deal and there for 10 years then it will look good business. If he flops like Zaha did then it will haunt Man U for years.
