Someone must be making some serious cash off the back of VAR for the sort of response the Premier League are giving, it seems clear that most fans hate it.

We have had some terrible refs this season. We have had awful decisions against us - to the point where some have probably cost us points and possibly even survival.

And I still want VAR got rid of.

Man Utd are making up for that with their complaint about a penalty not being given, whilst simultaneously ignoring that the Ref should have given one against Maguire earlier.

That still ruins the spontaneity of a goal as they check every goal regardless of 'clear and obvious'.

VAR remains a clear no from me.

A team scores a winner in the 93rd minute, the crowd go wild then 6 minutes later someone in a shed somewhere decides Player X`s little finger was offside in the build up and everything is gone..............

100% agree, and they must know this. Someone is making shed loads of cash somewhere to keep this gravy train turning. In fact, not just turning, but accelerating.

Goal line technology is great, I'm not against technology if it removes subjectivity, VAR does not, it just moves it from the pitch to some sweaty room in Uxbridge.

Will be interesting to see how much VAR is used in the World Cup this summer.

Last two World Cups, it was actually alright - they did it how it should be done (if you're going to have replay at all). Didn't use it too often (less than once every two games), flagged things quickly, mostly just corrected decisions where the refs had missed something obvious.

But the Premier League model of "Let's check everything, and spend five minutes analyzing whether his toe nail was six millimeters offside" is dreadful, and will quickly make things very tedious indeed. I assume at this point that the PL are just worried about hundred million pound lawsuits?
