Penalty given in the 25th minute to Bologna away to Juventus. The penalty is finally taken and scored, after indecision between the Ref and the VAR Official, in the 31st minute. There are other stoppages as well but the Ref only plays 2 minutes injury time. Is it that difficult to time these things so that right time is played, nevermind that VAR ridiculously takes so long?

Stop the clock each time play stops to guarantee all minutes are played - one of MANY things that should be taken from Rugby.

I believe David Elleray is part of a group that looked into this recommended shorter halves but with the clock stopping at every stoppage. I suspect it will get as far as safe standing will be in terms of being implemented

They tried that in the NASL back in the 80s. They then had games lasting over three hours.

Probably Juve were winning. Never much chance of injury time when that happens.
