General U's / Truck Fest Collaboration

But we aren't OXFORDSHIRE UNITED and it isn't in the city. 🙂
I think the point is that it's summer holiday season and fans want to show off who they support, it's depressing seeing other clubs fans in their new shirts when ours seems miles away from release. This isn't new so we can't even blame AB, this has happened every season for quite some time and it's fair that fans can't understand why others can release theirs and we never do.

The event is quite literally on our doorstop and the club have collabed on a Truck shirt which is great but the absence of a home kit let alone the money grabbing 2nd and 3rd kits is shocking.

I wasn't being serious, I was parroting the sort of rubbish Ian Middleton would say.

Seen plenty of the collab shirts on view including some of last years too. Plenty of regular footy shirts on show from other clubs, Portsmouth, Sheff Wed, Sunderland to name a few, did also see a STFC as i did last year, I resisted the urge to call security.
Saw a few Brizzle Rovers.

Plenty of shouts of Yellows as I was walking about with my Truck/OUFC shirt. And a good number of other Oxford shirts too.

I disagee - the report from OxVox meeting April 2023 with AB shows otherwise

Shouts of yellows, oh yes the only song anyone knows..

In all fairness, people aren’t going to start a full rendition of Yellow Submarine as a way to greet a fan they see in passing at a festival.
“In the tooooown…”

“Alright mate - see you at Kassam in a couple of weeks, yeah?”

“Where I was born…”

“Ha. Yeah, nice one. Anyway, got to dash as Wet Leg are starting in ten and I want to get a drink first.”

“Liiiiived a maaaaan…”

“…”

OUFC well represented this year… perhaps they chose to shift the truck merch first and then release the home kit rather than anything more sinister.

Over the weekend you just saw more and more of the OUFC Truck shirts. Had lots of people asking about it (as well as last year’s which I also wore this weekend) - it really is top drawer merch. Glad it’s selling well.

Tbf I really quite like the shirt design. If it weren't for the fact it's from (and has branding of) a festival I haven't attended, I might have considered buying it. However, I'm hardly going to go around wearing a Glastonbury t-shirt if I've never been.

I suppose you could say in that case I should only buy our kit if I have ever purchased whatever the sponsor is selling, but I think it's slightly different if it's an actual event.

Yep thought the shirt looked class..

The club might have got a few things wrong behind the scenes in recent months, but I think this link up has been great.

Yes that’s fair enough although Truck is such a local institution for the county, that I don’t think it’s a problem for people to buy the shirt even if they don’t attend the festival.

It’s a brilliant partnership and I hope they extend it beyond next summer. Tie it down to a new deal, before another club snaps it up! 🤣

You’ll have to attend next year then.

That's a really strong lineup though a bit too much standard indie. I'd like to see the Futureheads, Maximo Park, and CMAT. The Last Dinner Party are really annoying but do have some good tunes.
