General U21s/Youth Team

According to Stevie Kinninburgh in the programme:
- The U17s got to the semi finals of the PL U17 Cup
- The U18s are top of the Regional League
- The U21svard top of the Centeal Lesgue run by the EFL.

Let's hope that next season some of the Academy players start making it into the first team squad.

At the very least secure professional contracts with Oxford United

This is where we miss the tin pot cup.sure loads will disagree but I think it would be a great opportunity for younger players to play in
Wasn't one of the problems you couldn't just play loads of youngsters, because there was a rule restricting how many changes you could make to the previous league game?

Think prize money covered any fines so clubs ignored the rule if they wanted to change everybody. From memory, one club did it and had a decent run with it and prize money from winning the games covered the fines with some to spare.

I think such rules are maybe less strict in that competition than they are in the likes of the FA Cup, but presumably some will exist. However, that surely can't be as simple to enforce since the top flight B Team involvement, else you would have to have some rules for some sides, other for others.

The tournament died the day they were introduced.

Apparently it's going to be overcast but dry. Mind you, my app also said it wouldn't rain today, so who knows?

Funny old game is football. Swindon won 2-1 despite having a historically bad team against our very in form side
our u18s played really well first half, went in at HT 1-0 up, superbly taken goal from Oxfords number 8 , it could and should have been more than just a 1-0 lead at HT- 2nd half Oxford hit the bar and narrowly missed a couple chances, though farting about knocking the ball about at the back invited pressure, invevitably it went 1-1, then more casually knocking the ball to n fro at the back, again invited the opposition to attack in waves, conceding again- 1-2 loss

it was rather nippy at the training ground this afternoon, the wind making it feel even colder than it was

It was freezing!!
We should have won, but I thought that we were pretty ponderous at the back ( constant passing between the 2 CBs and keeper)
Some good performances, and I assume that there were a couple of the younger age group playing?

Fully intended to go but had to visit the father in law under pain of emasculation

Fantastic work lads.

Does this satisfy the 'year ending in 6' thing with the club? Now we have a championship in the bag, no need for any of the other teams to change division.
Works for me
