Bloody rotten luck for Tyler. A lacklustre start to the season out of position, dropped with no valid explanation, put back in suddenly, plays himself back into form and scores a screamer on Boxing Day, to now out for the season. Hope he can come back firing in August.
He might be back before. Hopefully he will feature as a sub on the penultimate game when safety is guaranteed

On the grass:

I believe he's been back training for a couple of weeks. He'd actually have been more useful to have in the squad than Dembele.

Really looking forward to him being back next season. I think he'll shine if given the chance to play centrally, he was the best player on the pitch there when we beat Southampton. It's painfully obvious he isn't a winger at this level. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see a trajectory similar as we've seen with Mills, who has gone from someone on the periphery and likely to be sent down a division to a consistent threat and clearly our best winger.

Yeah, he's a number 10.

Hypothetically, we stay in the Championship next season, and we trigger the option on Donley (who says, I've always wanted to sign for OUFC on a permanent), where would you envisage Donley/Goodrham playing? Or perhaps it would just be seen as a nice problem to have, competition for places and a fresh pair of legs to come on. Definitely agree that Goodrham is better centrally.

As you say competition is always a good thing, Helik's performances since getting back in after Makosso was late are a testament to that. I think Goodrham can play either as the 10 or as one of the deeper pair, although in that situation he probably needs a more defensive partner with him. Assuming we improve/keep up our current levels of perfomance then maybe he could be useful out wide but I wouldn't be all that keen to see it. He's not quick enough to beat the average full back and doesn't have the physical presence of MPH so can easily get lose there if we're under the cosh and he's receivng the ball on the halfway line with his back to goal in which case he's basically useless but if we are more on the front foot and can get him the ball in the final third he might have a role there.

Rotate and sell Goodrham in Jan for the pure profit on the P&L.

Have to say, I think £3.5m on Donley (if that is indeed what his option price is) would be a big call. The guy has talent, no doubt, but he's inconsistent. Occasionally bosses games, but is quiet more often than you'd like.

I'd probably rather spend half that on triggering Makosso's option, start Tyler and find another Premiership loanee to be his competition.

He has only played 9 games in the Championship. He will end up being a great player in my view.

OK he might end up a great player, but £3.5m is a vast amount of money for us to spend, betting on his improvement.

It would be a massive risk - if he was an absolutely sure thing, then Spurs wouldn't be letting him go for that amount, and we wouldn't be in a position to sign him because our richer peers would be in there. Stoke had him for the first half of the season (when they were quite good) and gave him a total of 81 minutes playing time!

Other teams we're competing with at this level can take flyers on those sorts of sums and write them off if they don't work. We can't - that would be most of our summer transfer fee budget!

I’ll say it - I think Tyler is ahead of Donley in that 10 role, personally.

I think he’s sharper, more threatening, more of a goal threat and matches Donley for effort and endeavour. The home game against Southampton he was outstanding and I’m yet to see Donley produce anything like that.

There’s obviously a difference in physical stature but I think Goodrham, if fit and registered, would add a dynamism and decisiveness that Donley lacks and would’ve been invaluable right now.

It isn’t revisionism - Goodrham has had a poor 12 months or so. But I think we can all see progression in lots of players since Rowett departed so I think there’s a high probability we’d have seen Goodrham play much better.

He’s a bit of a forgotten man thanks to his injury but I think there’s way we currently play would suit him down to the ground and he’s a big miss.

I’ve had it on good authority that lankshire is utterly loving being here and if there was any chance of him staying he would do so in a heartbeat. Sadly I can’t see any way of him being with us next year.
If we stay up and Spurs stay up, I think we would have a decent chance of having him back on loan.

It’s a shame we didn’t put in a cheeky £5m option to buy in Lankshear’s loan (if they’d have let us)…
I seriously think spurs will be playing us next season, and would be very surprised if that is the case that they allow a proven player In the championship who top championship clubs bid 10. Mill plus for in Jan would be allowed to leave!

Listening to a disgruntled Spurs fan on 606 on rad 5 live last Saturday he said 'sack all the big money players next season' bring in the likes of Will Lankshear.
He is getting noticed you know

Well yes along with suggestions of playing the "kids" not good enough yet to loan out. Considering their forward line not doing it much atm any port in a storm but he was ours to bring on and Donley.
