He started brightly then disappeared for long spells. He was better than Saturday but that’s a low bar. Doesn’t deserve to be starting.

Once the full back realises he can’t go past them on the outside then it’s always a struggle for him. Never a left winger, needs to find a position that suits him more, but whether he is a championship level midfielder with his physical shortcomings, it’s unlikely.

Links with Coventry are mental though, they will be in the prem next year and he is miles away from getting in their squad this season let alone when they are in a much better league and have the money to strengthen.

People don’t like it because he came through the youth team but he is just a good lower league footballer for me, we should have cashed in and let that be found out elsewhere, bad judgement call and greed saw us turn down cash that could have been invested better.

Agree mostly. Tyler is talented and he is taking longer to adjust. I am glad he’s still here and can help him develop. A couple of longe range goals and he will be back to his best. He’s still young and improving. Fees of £10m talked about were wide of the mark then, but a run in the side and some goals at this level will see his value increase nicely.

I thought that he looked more like his old self when he can on last night.

I agree he looked much better. We have to give Rowett some credit for that. What I liked generally was seeing the players smiling and looking more composed on the ball. Memories of QPR at Wembley in 1986

He looked bright, the play was mostly in that inside channel he prefers, his weakness is when the play takes him wider and he doesn’t really have the game for that.

For the moment I think 60 minute sub is the best role for him.

Don't mention QPR losing that match on a Tyler Goodrham threat - he would not be happy about it even if it was before he was born.
Anyway, looked a bit like his old self yesterday.

I'm sure TG will be greeting this morning's news. Refreshing to see him get the ball and try to take people on on Saturday, even if there was plenty of traffic at the end.

If our next manager favours a return to a high pressing style I think he could play a big part in the rest of our season.

Play him in the 10 behind Lankshear & let him have a free role. Encourage him to take on players even if it means giving the ball away. Encourage him to have shots 20-25 yards out. When he loses the ball, ask him to try and win it back as fast as possible. It’s really that simple with Tyler.

Then play width either side of him & Lankshear. Mills on the right. Placheta on the left.

Superb today and looked a completely different player. He was good when we first got to this level playing in that role before he had to move because we had no wingers. Basically been played out of position for a year now, he's played poorly but you wouldn't see so much criticism for Brannagan if he were played left wing or Helik if he got shoved to right back.

It's only one game but I think he could be the biggest beneficiary of Rowett leaving, and there should be plenty to choose from. Miles better than mid table League 1 as suggested, hope he keeps it up.

If he can rock up in three days time and produce similar then a) we’ll possibly win and b) he’ll have solidified himself in his favoured position and a position we’ve struggled to work out how to fill (for right or wrong)

He arrived in the bar with a beaming smile. His daughter and partner waiting for him must have helped as well. His daughter is a delight and was displaying her footballing skills just before Daddy arrived.
Getting Tyler doing what he does best again is a real tonic for OUFC.

He’s back!!!!

His passion for the club there. Feels almost like he was making a point with that badge celebration, as if a sort of "if I do end up being let go during the January window, at least I got to celebrate this one with you before I go". Not saying he's going anywhere, just you never know with a new manager coming in.

Alot of people eating humble pie on here again tonight. When will they ever learn. Tyler was superb today. Playing in the right position and his quality shone throught

It’s his first good game in 16 months !!!!! I’d say right now, one good game in that long is hardly going to get anyone eating humble pie ! If he does it for 6, 8, 10 games then maybe but not on the back of one 90 minutes.

Please just keep quiet .
The young man has stepped up a level , played extremely well then lost hinself and his confidence under a different manager playing in a formation and position that just didn't suit him.
He ran the show Sat against midfiekders who cost 15-18 million and here you are still doubting him .
Boring.

He played well but I think saying he ran the show is a little over the top.

He should start in his preferred position tomorrow night and he needs to carry on from his best performance in a year.

People need to stop setting the bar so low for him because he came through the youth system though, one good game isn’t enough to completely make people wrong about him, it’s a fair point.

No one is setting the bar low , he had a great game topped off with a fantastic goal .
Being negative and whiny after that just comes across as sad imho.
No one said anything other than how good it was to see him back in his preferred position and clearly enjoying himself while having a great game against quality opposition.
Hope it continues although I'm sure some on here would love him to have a poor game now !

Afraid I agree with baldy on this one. Highs not too high, lows not too low. He’s been played out of position, he’s been frozen out, but the reality is he needs to make himself unstoppable and undroppabple and start playing like that consistently week in week out.

My biggest concern is still his lack of physicality, which resultantly means he gives away lots of free kicks.

My biggest excitement is his game intelligence and magic factor that he can bring to that 10 role, which will unravel teams that we can put on the back foot.

Id play him in home games more than away games.

Ah yes, anything you say !!!! Sod off, I’ll say what I want when I want.

Goodrham was my MOTM on Friday and I said as much on here , he was pretty good - 8/10. He’s finally had a good game, his first in my opinion since late September 2024 - and I’ve been at virtually every game he’s been involved in. He was hopeless under the last throws of Des and has been so bad under Rowett that he’s been omitted completely at times. I was replying to the poster who said everyone who has criticised him will now be eating humble pie !!!! What on the back of a one decent 90 min !!!! Come on, really, the bar cannot possibly be that low !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😊

I think the point is it's the first time in over a year he's played in his correct position and he's gone from completely ineffective to very good overnight. He's so obviously not a winger at this level that it's almost akin to sticking Vaulks out there and complaining when it doesn't work.

Agree we need to see more over a far longer period and hold him to the same standard as everyone else but it's a great example of how Rowett wasn't getting everything out of the squad, even with all his experience. The management of Goodrham over the last 12 months is a huge black mark against Rowett. Not sure how much further he can go because he only properly fits a specific role where he's central with someone behind him, although maybe in a better team he'd be a good 10, but we've had a good player on our hands who's been wasted for a year.

Yeah it’s fair to say that Rowett and Goodrham never fitted well together.

His stature and lack of pace are always going to be a bit of problem, he needs to hit the ground running with the new manager and show he can be a centre midfielder, the rest of this season will probably have a massive bearing on his career.

It’s also the first game in a long time where he has played the number 10 role which is clearly the right one for him.
