To be fair, don't disagree with any of that irresponsible use is to be frowned upon. But releasing balloons filled with human breath in a confined space, such as a football stadium, will not result in the problems you describe.Latex ones are still bad for the environment according to the Marine Conservation Society.
Balloons in general cause wildlife (Dolphins, Turtles, Birds etc) to die, often a slow painful death, as they mistake them (or parts of them) for food which then isn't digested and blocks their digestive system.
Mass outside releases can be particularly bad and balloons can travel great distances, not just affecting the immediate environment.
