Imagine if some tinpot Sunday league outfit had him for a couple of years before Exeter

There must be a few footballers who've played non-league for a few seasons before a big move. I had a look at Jamie Vardy as a recent example but his transfer fee to Leicester was only £1.12M according to transfermarkt.

I wonder what counts as education and training and when a player passport is started. Would playing for instance at Thame United count?

At which point he would have cost a hefty fee and commanded serious wages, likely three times what we are offering now! He's a bit of a punt but down to recovery from injury rather than having to develop a knack of scoring goals at this level which he's shown he can do.

- Has experience of being promoted from League One
- Previous goal scoring record in League One is excellent

Devante Cole. A man who has never been any good, yet has somehow skipped around the leagues for the past four or five years picking up decent wages and signing on fees.

I sincerely hope he isn’t “as good as it gets”.

Those are probably the most interesting/realistic names on that list. Not saying they're all KR's mystery man, but any of Clarke, Bogle, Winnall, or Keane could be. Green is a left winger, and I think Thiam is right footed. Suspect we're mor likely to get a loan winder than a player like these two.
