Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

Taylor being signed for 3 years is great. Sounds like he took a decent pay cut to come here - no doubt he’ll have some bonuses in his contract to sweeten the deal there.
I think he can continue to offer a lot on the pitch, even in 3 years time. His style of play will hopefully allow that. Plus he’ll have a strong influence in the dressing room - much like Mackie.

Throwing something else into the mix here... KR said that in training after lock down; Robbie Hall was looking a lot sharper and like the old Robbie Hall... will wait to see it in games, but that’s potentially as good as a new signing.
From his expiring deal yes so that was a bit of spin by Robbo!

Letting Hylton and Wright walk after we got promoted, because we thought we had better in Thomas and Martin, wasn’t our finest moment. But they were pretty rare missteps in all fairness.

Still hurts though...

Wes Thomas. Weeeees Thomas. Wes. Thomas.

8 goals in 25 games in League 1, but he's only good enough for L2 or lower?

Not taking into account he provides a lot more in his game than just goals.
That’s why he isn’t a Regular 1st framer however in L2 he would probably start most games and chip in with more goals.

You can watch on BBC iPlayer now.

A rangey striker, a bit of pace..can play across the front three
I stuck it on briefly but he got subbed off, and I think I might be pushing it trying to get away with watching a Northern Irish cup final for no reason at all!

Just looked him up. 20 year old forward, 14 goals in 27 appearances for Glentoran.

2018/2019 - 4 goals in 16 appearances

2019/2020 - 10 goals in 11 appearances (pre-Covid I'm assuming)

Wonder if that's a Joel Cooper recommendation then?

I reckon with Jim Magilton we have an unofficial scout in Northern Ireland.

8 in 25 in L1 despite suffering an injury that took a fair while to discover what it was.

The bloke was injured until February this season and then we went into lockdown. Phased return to action and offered a new contract despite the injury limiting playing time. Jones clearly sees something in him at Championship level.

You realise Luton are in the Championship, not L1, and certainly not L2.

If he was on Mastermind Matty Taylor's specialist subject would be Northern Irish cup finals

Yet Mackie only scored 2 goals in 40 appearances this season in a team which created a lot of chances is ok but Hyltons 8 goals in 25 games isn’t good enough for L1 ?
