Well good luck to him. If he did return to us the advantages would be he knows the team, seems well liked and ought to be better next time around. The disadvantages being we don’t know quite how to fit him in the team and he drifts in and out too much to be a central (key) player.

In a sense it feels like Jerome Sinclair all over again. He’d do well here if he stayed fit - and he really needs a good full season under his belt. High risk going abroad. Though it’s proven a great proving ground for some others in the past few years.

We had Les Phillips, Micky Lewis and Martin Gray who were no taller and managed to do pretty well in midfield. The constant talk of his height is a little childish!

It is but you’d be wrong to think physical presence isn’t a real consideration when signing a player. A manager would happily go with a three man midfield of six footers but no way would he go with three at 5’6”.

If he doesnt come back the loan will go down as one that didnt live up to expectations for several reasons. Wherever he ends up, for his career‘s sake, he cant afford it to happen again.

Kelly is 5 foot 4! Les was 5 8 and I think Mickey was 5 6

Barcelona or Pep at Man City would!
