I almost laughed when I heard Robinson say that they were looking to buy players in January, what with the HMRC issue still hanging around like a smelly fart..

Having said that, bringing in Jordan Graham, Kieran Agard and Devante Cole would mean a fantastic January. We can still dream.. ?

He started 31 games. He came off the bench 23 times. He scored 19 goals (15 goals scored when he started, 4 goals when he was introduced from the bench). It's all black and white mate.

Not according to wiki but I think that’s 6 league goals, whennwe bought him I watched a video of him playing for Dundee and thought wow here we go but tbh was very disappointed. There was one goal that I enjoyed against Rotherham when Johnson did what he was brought in to do playing on the wing going past the Rotherham players and delivering a great cross for Hemmings to tap in and it was almost repeated a short while later.

Which is Hemmings game, which didn't happen that season. I remember us playing under Clotet with balls coming in left and right with Obika and Thomas nowhere near them. In a scrappy game where you can get lucky down the left or right, having Hemmings in there would be a good start for finding a goal.

Having said that, Mackie is more than capable at being in those positions now he's fit and his overall game is so much better. Wouldn't mind him extending that pay to play contract or even just giving him a permanent until Summer 2020.

I thought that KR said Hemmings didn't want to stay and wanted to move back to the Midlands?
If that us the case then he wasn't an alternative to Obika.
I am with Bazzer on this. I had high hopes that he would be an excellent striker for us. He scored a load of cup goals but not an awful lot of league goals. He didn't hold the ball up well.
He has hardly set the world alight in League 2 ever since.

Exactly he’s not better nor are they any better, the best we can hope for now is Mackie, Whyte and Henry with the rest chipping in.

No offence - but trust me, don't trust the information you pulled from Wikipedia. Go to Rageonline, look at the accurate set of stats, which includes appearances in league and cups, it will give you the right answer.

Don’t matter really he’s not with us no more we’ve moved on but do have equally 2 strikers that are as bad as Hemmings

Hemmings is in the top 10 in league 2 for the chances he is receiving...he is scoring in line with that. He can clearly do it in league 2, however I would take him over smith any time.

Thomas was a decents striker when we had Payne...take Payne out of the equation and Thomas didn’t offer much.

I hope we add agard/Bonne or another loan striker in January (some decent goal scorers in the Everton and West Brom reserves). Limping through with Mackie won’t cut it.

To my mind, we are defensively solid, we have players that are capable of creating...we just need that last piece (I know we could upgrade LB etc). Options are pretty thin when coming to strikers so will have to take a punt on someone unproven

Take a look at Bonne for Orient. Would cost but a punt.

Agard and Aneke - both out of contract in the summer, KR took them to MK, but far too good for league 2
