It was a really great run, and one that I don’t think Harris makes.

That being said, having made such a great run and got a yard on his man, he should have at least hit the target! Other than Leigh’s header, it was the best chance we had all night…..
Yes, that is true, in hindsight.

I think I’m just tired of expecting unnatural attributes from players.
Gary Lineker did alright sticking around the penalty box…

Question: when was the last time that any one of us, on seeing Harris run through one-on-one with the goalie, confident that he was actually going to score?

Probably this game - he was on fire at that point in the season, brimming with confidence and scoring for fun

Course that also rather emphasizes the yawning gulf in quality between the Championship and the majority of League One. The sort of comedy defending on show there just doesn't happen at this level. You don't often get one-on-ones like that - chances come and go that much quicker and goalscoring instincts have to be that much sharper.

It's why, for all his positive attributes, Sparky is never going to be at the top of the scoring charts in the Championship. And it's why signing a striker just because they score a ton in the lower leagues is always a dangerous move (hello Macauley Langstaff and his 1 goal in 30 games).

Bradshaw did have the prerequisite instincts - only question is whether they've dulled a bit with age.

In his appearances so far I think Bradshaw has equalled or bettered Harris when compared. As has been mentioned, we’re going to struggle up top when Placheta prefers to ping it from 30yrds and Dembele runs towards the box and either forgets he’s got the ball or turns his back and is dispossessed.

Last night wasn’t the night to really judge though. It was never going to be easy against their defence. Tuesday at Derby and Saturday at Pompey will be the matches to look at and really judge who is capable and who is not.

I’m still concerned that we’re going into the back end of the season relying on worldies, flukes and defenders mind you.

I don’t recall anything specific was said, which is a bit odd.

However, he did refer to Ole in a few comments in his interview, so perhaps we will see more of him now 🤷‍♂️
What did he say? That he didn't want Ole and he is only here for tax dodging?

Putting aside the ex player (hero) status… how would you feel if we signed a player who hasn’t played in almost a full year?
To be honest, it was tongue in cheek, but, most free agents will have issues with match fitness, they’re free agents half way into a season for a reason. If we signed him on a pay as you play deal for 6 months, I wouldn’t be upset by it.

We will run with what we have Portsmouth game looks even bigger now ,keep battling and let's get over the line with staying up

Are there any suitable free agents available to cover?
Lucas João, 31, former Reading striker is a free agent. Championship experience, 6ft4 could be a decent target man option. I don't think we need a goal scorer as such, just someone who can hold the ball up for us. Saying that he did have a 19 goal season for them. Released by an Iranian club this month.
