Those running EFL currently IMO are not fit for purpose

Two of many reasons why major changes in how the EFL is run and who by is in desperate need of major changes

EFL oversee checking prospective new owners ar 'fit and proper' to run EFL football clubs- yet under their watch Bury have been expelled, after gross mismanagement by Dale , who EFL 'approved' as fit and proper to run a football club
Bolton may well follow with administrators already there as from today (at Bolton) I believe?

EFL in conjunction with both FA and whatever the referees association is called(?), 'allow' seriously incompetent officials to oversee championship, L1 & L2 matches, football is supposed to be entertainment, its not entertaining for paying customers to week in week out to be subjected to substandard officials, whos erroneous calls, can by definition prove to be costly in many ways to EFL football clubs

the whole fit and proper person checks simply dont work, evidently- and is there any redress against EFL making wrong descions in their checks?..., there may be, not that Im aware of any though. IMO the FA are far from blameless in this too... EFL clubs are affiliated to the FA, what exactly do clubs outside of PL get for their affliation to FA ? Major changes are long overdue in EFL and FA

Referees/ officials - granted its a thankless task, and as match officials are (apparently) human, human error will happen. Personally Id like to see consistency applied , too many referees have been permitted to make every game they officiate all about them , not what the paying customers wants to see IMO. Major changes are long overdue regarding the low standard of referees/ match officials imposed on EFL matches

Although Shaun Harvey has departed from EFL- leaving a trail of devastation in his wake...., isnt former OUFC owner/ chairman Ian Lennagan in a decision making position, & rather high up, in the current , failing, EFL heirarchy?

Yes the EFL are not fit for purpose.

Ref "bashing" wins you no points from me.
Yes they can be inconsistent, but we may have a slightly biased view.
And they are human, they make mistakes. No ref = no game.
The training/progression should be based around ability not ticking boxes for gender, race or whatever else.

agree 100% re refs and ability, and that being human they will make mistkes... its the standard of refereeing in general and the consistent inconsistencies that are what IMO need some changes ... Match officials IMO should, at EFL level, be full time, not part time as I believe L1 and L2 officials currently are? And there should be a mandate prohibiting referees to instruct their assistant referees to not give anything except thow ins- if they are assistants, referees should allow their assistant to actually assist in all aspects of officiating any match, not as it currently is.

Maybe teams of 4 officials operating as a 4 man unit on rotation, 4th official one game, assistant next, senior assistant in the 3rd, referee in the 4th, and repeat- working as a unit all season would bring a better standard Id think?

The EFL administer the rules as set and voted for by their members - the clubs. So either the EFL is not doing that correctly, or the clubs (owners/chairmen) have set up the rules in such a way as to allow this to happen.

According to R5L last night, Dale took over, the EFL asked him for his evidence that he had funds to run the club for 2 years, he repeatedly refused to provide anything and the EFL found that their mitigation measures weren't enforceable. Dale also took over the club having liquidated 14 other businesses.........

Easy target and where are the hoardes of competent officials waiting to take over. Yes I want a better standard but that's not an easy fix whereas the fit and proper person test and EFL oversight of club finances could and should have been better.
