Current Staff Tim Williams

It's worth noting that Tim Williams has repeatedly used OUFC as an example of what can happen to clubs in an unregulated football industry, why scrutiny and curious minds matter and why government needs to act.

In this instance, however, it seems supporters asking questions is not a little awkward, it's actively unwelcome.

Question is, have OxVox and OUSP been naive to trust Williams? I’d say yes.

Edit: we may disagree on a lot and lock heads at time but I think when it comes to the running of club we are both on the same page and for me that is what OUFC, you can have different opinions on many subjects/players/managers but at the end of the day, when it comes to the club as a whole we all want the same outcome and have the same expectations of how it is ran.
Jury's out for me on that Q. OUSP is a creation of the board so can't really do otherwise but trust their intentions. Oxvox have to tread a fine line and there's always a risk that being too strident or reactive undermines long term relations, especially with the owners. They have definitely made mis-steps in the recent past. Today's message is serious and does represent an escalation. Benefit of the doubt can only survive for so long in the face of bare-faced lies told directly to fans and the local media even if those lies were made in a timely and proactive manner.

Tim: in executive positions some things will go well, other things won't. Your job is to lead through both with integrity and to make sure your staff do the same. Trust is the most important commodity. It's been an amazing season, ST prices are great, the group who recruited Rowett when you were instructed by the owners to part with Des pulled off a master stroke. But... the BS has to stop. It really does.

The club has also obviously treated RO with total disdain as well. After the way Jerome Sale dismissed it all last weekend, it seems that he has been given reassurances by someone at the club that don’t appear to hold any truth.

It’s made Jerome look a bit of a mug. It’ll be interesting to see if he changes his stance of ‘everything’s fine, nothing to see here’ this weekend

He's a dreadful CEO
That’s because he isn’t one, he’s an accountant at best, and doesn’t appear to be much cop at that either.

I called him Tim but dim very early on, so I guess mud does stick.

Proof if nothing else that we need @OxVox and their willingness to be a challenging friend than the “in bed with the club” nature of @OUSP.

It’s easy to be a club like Reading who willingly ignored the danger signs and rode on the happy wagon when times were good. It’s uncomfortable, at a time of euphoria, to have to have these conversations, but it’s important to the utmost degree. The club governance and transparency of certain individuals is an exhausting hidden mess
Well, if some customers haven’t learnt by our historical interactions or lack of them with Kassam, then I guess they never will.

You’re all conveniently forgetting that we’ve only been a Championship’s Club for a year, admittedly Manning had us 2nd in the table when he departed, but promotion last season was a complete and utter surprise even though we made the playoffs and the final. Who knew we might win at Wembley? It was freak set of circumstances. This season at Christmas it looked like we were going down, how could anyone have foreseen Rowett’s turnaround?

It’s very difficult to plan for the Championship when this season and for next season we expected to be in League One. We’re years ahead of schedule and still learning what it is to be a top 30 Championship Club.

We’ll need more than one season in the Championship to be able to organise a fans forum, these things are highly complex and take time.

If you are joking then whoosh, but, if not then why does the division we are effect whether or not there is a fans forum?

So Tim Williams managed to get people to publicly defend and praise him while overseeing the club being handed a second transfer embargo in less than 12 months, then pulled the rug on them after months of stringing them along and went “LOL thanks for that, but I won’t be giving you any of my time like I promised, byeeeee!”

You have to admire it in a way. He doesn’t even pretend to respect anybody. Then again, he would probably argue he doesn’t need to.
All I've ever wanted is the truth. It always felt like the 'we can't do the forum until Grant is in the country' was unnecessary stalling. At least we're now getting a flat 'nah, I don't want to do that'.

That honesty is all I've ever wanted.

So proud of my club right now 🥹

Is thar pure speculation, or have you heard that there is a remote possibility of this happening ( as you are somebody who on football matters, seem to have their ears to the ground?)
Every day it isn’t resolved, it only gets more likely, especially as this isn’t our first misdemeanour. The fact he’s even running the risk boils my p**s.

Watch him come out when it’s sorted and go “see, I told you, I’m a man of my word. About time I got some respect”.

I am genuinely not sure that is true.
For this misdemeanor is the punishment a fine, points deduction, transfer embargo?

Swiss Yellow seens often to be close to what is going on. So my question relayed to whether he has heard anything specific.

The Oxvox comments clearly have concerned people, but in my view we need to know what is going on factually.

Be quiet, Little Mushroom.

Very true. But as long as we have a SMT led by a CEO who doesn't feel the fans should be told ANYTHING AT ALL, then how will we get these facts?

I suspect when an eagle eyed fan spots something on the EFL website saying we've got a points deduction or something similar. At which time the CEO and SMT will all be away on their summer jollies, patting themselves on the back for not having to face those pesky fans' difficult questions.

The paperwork, irrespective of which division we are in, is the responsibility of the club secretary, overseen by the CEO. It’s a different submission in the Championship, so a little extra work, but then again there is no paperwork to apply for the EFL Trophy.

No excuses, this should have been done (ahead of the deadline too). I’ve said it before and will repeat it again - the club decided to make several experienced, trusted accounts staff who worked to the club secretary redundant. And replaced them with fewer and less knowledgeable recruits. No surprise there has been a glitch and the CEO should take the rap for this because the EFL have long memories and the bigger their OUFC file gets, the less likely they’ll be lenient when we c0ck up next.

Oh I don't disagree Colin.
Just trying to get through to what is really going in.
So the comment about us getting closer to a points deduction by people not close to this maybe doesn't help?
I pricked my ears up when Swiss yellow came up with a comment. If you had suggested that we were closer to a points deduction, I would have similarly listened.

For those not close, it is difficult to get to the bottom of what could genuinely happen and pure speculation

Anyway cleared now which is good news ( it must not happen again!)

Truth and honesty are such important points when it comes to the board communicating with supporters.

If you renege on a promise and commitment to have a fans forum, why should supporters believe everything else that is said?

People will inevitably start asking awkward and difficult questions when that trust has deliberately been broken.

Does annoy me how TW always seems to be appear when things are going well on the pitch. Fine interviewing him after Saturday and Wembley etc, but he goes hiding when the going gets tough.

Would also be more forgivable if he hadn't come in talking about Man Utd and how capable they are of running a club. Various debacles have shown they're really not.
