Tickets Tickets? WTF?

Trying to buy a ticket for S’ton on line. First experience of the new website…..

I’m told I’m no. 41 in the queue and they will let me know by email when I can purchase it…at which point I will have limited time to complete the purchase….Anyone else getting this?

……Is this progress? I don’t think so

Pretty standard fare these days if you are trying to buy tickets for big music shows these days, this is how a lot of the online ticket booking systems now work.

Why would that be?

I remember when 'client-server' computing was er invented and this thing was going to be a thing of the past.

Well it shouldn't be for a pre-season match between Oxford and Southampton which will have a handful of people online at any given time, it is to handle the flood of server requests you get when 200,000 Taylor Swift fans all try to connect at once to get tickets. Guessing we are using a standard back-end for our ticketing system, although you'd expect to be able to turn off the option.

You could always call.the ticket office.

Due to the ongoing worldwide IT outage, all ticketing sales have been suspended, including the planned sale of United Oxford Memberships. Updates to follow.
Thank you for your patience

Thanks Essex Yellows I was unaware of the wider IT issues earlier….

I shall revert to the tried and trusted phone land line then….

Not that this will help either, ticket office is down as well so I imagine they won't be able to help either till everything is back up.

Depends if the ticket office could activate their card payment function or go up there with cash. I had to call EE back to upgrade my mobile plan - all good now.

Think we can cut the club some slack here guys. This isn’t on them.

The desire to find everything wrong with the club is a little wearing and verging on toxic in some cases. Plenty needs improvement but let’s try to keep some perspective
Completely agree. Some things at the club aren’t right, whether that be the shambles of the ST’s going off sale, the lack of communication over that and other matters but not everything has to be a reason to beat the club with.
It does come across as a few who have an axe to grind against some at the club.

One positive for me so far is our summer signings. I can’t remember the last transfer window where every signing to date has been one that will either strengthen the team or a player for the future (Knightbridge being one).
Even the Ingram singing is a solid signing to have someone with his experience coming in as number 2 but at the same time, a keeper that will truly push Cummings for the number 1 shirt.

IT Outages bother me.
AI bothers me.
WIFI going down bothers me.
Reliance on satellites bothers me.

Tickets problems will seem like a pea in the Ocean when we all 'lose' our investments, and pensions. And we have to pay ransoms to hackers to access our dosh.

When that time comes cash will be king again.

In the mean time has my car charged as BT WIFI keeps dropping?
