World Cup Thomas Tuchel Named England Manager

Q.E.D. I suppose.

Let's try again. Why in the world would anyone in their right mind mind about the coaches nationality when England's top leaque and national team coaching is dominated by European / Global tactical ideas anyway?
That's why I hate watching England and the Premier league and all its minions. It's like watching paint dry. Overpriced, overrated s**t paint from the same pot.

What about fail with a German, or any other Non-English?

I mean, it's the most likely outcome after all.
It's the most likely outcome because anything less than winning the World Cup will be deemed a failure. The window for success is tiny, so fair play to him for taking it on. As has been demonstrated on here and in many other places, whoever does it and whatever they achieve, some will be dissatisfied.

Don’t really get what you are saying here? Do we have to play the WM formation of we have an English coach?

I don't know what "WM formation" means, but all coaches with 'huge resources' seem to play the same way. So why would an English coach make any difference?

It’s an old football formation (not even sure it’s of English origin), should probably have just said 4-4-2 as that’s as outdated nowadays.

I don’t think anyone thinks it will make much difference who is in charge, whether English or Micronesian, but I think most peoples point is that it’s international football, why is the manager any different to the players.

I think WM came from Arsenal in the 20's or something like that?

Think it changed the game going from 5 up front to 4 or something like that, been taking forwards away till we ended up with an Irish English Brummie sending England out with no forwards to a predictable result.

England must be a fantastic job because you don’t have the every day problems a club manager has like player’s problems home life etc,. A chairman to deal with keeping everyone happy players staff etc. you literally go round grounds watching English players preform and choosing from limited pools of players and try to build up there moral for a few days together and a month in tournaments hoping your the manager that has the rub of the green, pure luck that gets you to the final and hopefully win . English managers just haven’t had that little bit of luck needed to win a tournament. I really believe it’s an overrated job that most managers could do cause it’s money for old rope. Just need thick skin and luck end of .
Oh and don’t forget the 6million quid you get payed.

Well most managers could do it if they don't mind losing to Greece or Iceland?

Greece and Iceland are still full of players playing at the highest club levels around the world as are most international sides so no real shame in losing to them apart from expectations. Most international sides basically pick themselves within reason. The hardest part of being an international manager is telling players there not coming to a tournaments as they haven’t been picked. The rest is BS and luck

Of course the bloody woke briegade have been out in force, calling anyone who disagrees with the concept of having a non English manager a "racist".

"Oh, which English man would be feta for the job anyway?"

Well, aside from Big Sam (100% win record, obvious choice), there's another English man who would do a gouda job. Like Tuchel, he's available after Christmas, but unlike Tuchel, he comes with a great goalkeeping coach.

His ideas may be unconventional, but they certainly are cracking, and we'll win the world cup. There won't even be any close shaves.

Like Gareth, he even has a unique style. Let's just hope he doesn't accidentally wear the wrong trousers!

Forget the sky, the moon is the limit with these two!

Bloody woke brigade wouldn’t stand for it mate. They want a German do-gooder. They actually hate British dogs

International football is only relevant because the fans happen to be born in the same country as the players / are the same nationality as the players. That’s literally the only point. That’s the only reason we ‘support’ England - because we’re English. It doesn’t really make much sense, but there it is. Can a squad of men who are English beat other squads of men who are different nationalities at football, and everyone will support the ones who happen to be the same nationality as them.

When you look at it like that, it makes you realise how stupid it is having a manager who is, in fact, from a different country. It’s starting to remove literally the only point of international football.

But it’s definitely much cooler to laugh and say you don’t care, because then you aren’t on the side of the racists or the right wing press. I don’t like either of those groups, and I don’t especially like international football, but I recognise that since literally the only point of it is grouping participants by nationality, having the head, key decision maker not following that is ridiculous - for any country.

You’re missing the group, like me, who do care who manages the national team ,who can still be fiercely patriotic, but just don’t get the level of anger that’s led to the disrespect shown towards a foreign manager, some of which has been plain embarrassing. I cant wait for him to prove the doubters wrong.

I don't really disagree, but since we've already had two foreign managers I'm not sure there's any point getting too het up about it now. I guess the difference is we didn't have social media in the same way when Sven and Capello were here.
