Thohir

Out of genuine interest (and not suspicion) how does one access the document you just supplied at its original source? I presume it is online, do you search the docket number?

Good question. I wonder where he got that from !

Can anyone explain what this means in its simplest terms?

What does being on the board mean, exactly? Does it mean simply that he will have some say in the day-to-day and broader running of the club? Does it necessarily mean that we’ll benefit from his considerable financial clout? Or does that responsibility still fall squarely at the feet of Tiger? My limited understanding of FFP suggests that even if he were involved in some financial capacity, he still wouldn’t be able to just pour money into the on-the-field side of things, as that is dictated exclusively by the clubs football- and sponsorship-related revenue, but that he could invest in infrastructure (training facilities, women’s team and, crucially, stadium).

I want to get excited but I’m not really sure what this means in practice, so any insight would be appreciated.
I was hoping that with the people we now have in place it might help to move us to a new stadium which we as some will say we wouldn’t own but which club does as they are all owned by someone. Hopefully we will have people who want to push the club forward as well as make a few quid.

From outside it looks like he is here to help a mate with some business acumen/ experience of the goings on of a football club (some money probably will be involved) On paper the board looks a bit tasty from a financial point and has form when it comes to lending to football clubs, you just get the opinion there is more to it.

Also looks like Thohir was sold by Tiger 'The Oxford brand' early doors as Robinson remarked he knew way back something like this was coming.
Will Tiger be here in 12 months?

Does not matter how you see it, it is a little bit of excitement from the norm. I feel a wind of change coming and I hope the great SS Oxford sails are billowing again, instead of the great Fart we tend to get...!

I'm starting to see why Daryl sold to Tiger rather than Stewart Donald and Co. I know the obvious comeback is he got more money but these guys appear to have a stronger background in the sporting arena.

Though some of us get concerned regarding some of the day to day comings and goings of the club this is magnified due to it being our club and our interest isn't a passing fad but an emotional commitment ('it's personal' as some actor said).

There does appear to be a vision which has been thought through which is being implemented, we may be frustrated at times but if it was your business would you want to 'open your kimono'?

Well if it looks like a better deal for Daryl and it sounds like a better deal for Daryl then it probably is a better deal for Daryl.

On the speculation on sites under review, there’s been a very compelling case for Oxpens put forward on here. The thought of a stadium and other leisure and recreational facilities, including cafes etc in that area, with the rail and bus links already in existence there, is an exciting proposition. I suppose the ever present issues with Botley Road will be a hindrance if there does prove to be any substance to this but until any more information comes out on where the sites actually are, I’m struggling to look any further than this one at the moment.

Let's think positively and expand our expectations. We will build a multi purpose sports ground the Stadium will be built to the very best standard, and aesthetically blends into the Oxford City landscape . Oxford will host the Olympics, will be the best concert venue in Europe if not the world. When Britain get to host the world cup, the Oxford Stadium will be one of the first grounds chosen for the finals.

The Hotels, Restaurants and Casiono will bring in more revenue. All this and more wil be approved by our forward thinking City Council and rate payers.
The Council will have a deal signed by the stadium builders that OUFC will be the owners of the ground when built. OUFC will have all revenue from the stadium and advertising revenue related to the stadium. The owners of said hotels, casino, restaurants will get all the revenue, but pay the council rates and maintain all areas around all assets. Being diligent Oxford United Supporters, the Board will write off any debts owed by OUFC and support a playing budget that allows OUFC to maintain a OUFC in the Premier League top 4.

These are all achievable

Please feel free to add more positive expectations to the achievable ones listed above. ???⚽?

And an indoor beach. We need an indoor beach. With an indoor sea with turtles and friendly, multi-lingual whale guides for the tourists.

Great idea. Let’s have Indoor beach volleyball!! Let’s see them Aussie lassies and Brazilian burds. ?

Only season ticket holders can enter!

Yeah, that's the kind of timescale I meant really. The stadium issues have dogged us for over 20 years now, so having a new home done in 5 pales in comparison.

And the rest! Oxford we’re looking for a new ground seriously from about 1970 onwards. I personally remember sites like green road, which was opposed and is now a terrible service station. Being proposed by the club and rejected by the council.
When we did eventually find a spot and the council approved, it turned out there were all kinds of covenants (whatever) that hampered development. The council were so unsupportive that Herd walked away and we were left with Kassam who then proceeds to make millions for himself and finish the ground for as little as he could.
I have absolutely no faith in Kassam selling without it working out very nicely for him. The kind of deal that means he still owns the space in the corners and he builds four skyscrapers in them and rents them back to the council to house homeless people and immigrants!
I also have no faith in the council to actually support OUFC for once and find us a new site to build on

Why not? There are so many towns and cities around us with forward thinking councils actually building leisure facilities instead of just more and more homes. What the hell are all these people going to do?
Why not a massive indoor beach with a wave pool, water slides and water jets. Or a snow centre? Swindon will soon have both!
What do we have in Oxford?

Whatever happens, we’ll still own f**k all and these guys will have used the club/fans as a lever to get what they want in terms of development, by saying they need this to generate much needed funds to keep the club running as it cannot sustain itself on a game once a fortnight, but we know we’ll never see this money because they’ve had to borrow it to do the development in the first place. Then they’ll run the club on a shoestring selling it’s best assets along the way until we drop back down the leagues, for them to be hounded out of the club, but all along they got what they wanted! Sound familiar??

Wouldn't you need to have some assets to sell first? At least the way up while we are creating said assets will be fun before the plummet back down. If it happens.

We have lovely student accommodation buildings. Let the riff-raff drive down the a420 if they want leisure facilities
