General THE YELLOW DIVISION - Norwich City Display Fundraiser

Not to put a dampener on things but I would caution against hiding the amount raised so far like seems to be the case on https://pay.collctiv.com/yellow-division-24-25-match-day-fund-23577

I've no doubt that these lads and ladies are an honest bunch but we've been here before

Should think it's better to be open and honest with how much folks have donated

I think after Peterborough, Stevenage, Wembley, and Norwich, the Yellow Division and Yellow Army can be trusted to have a rolling fund that isn't public to buy extra materials like coloured cards, streamers etc.

@Carpy: “we've been here before” - Have we? First I’ve heard of it. Entirely different group, entirely different people. Please don’t tar the hardworking lads involved in this, with whatever brush it is that you’re attempting to tar them with. What may have happened in the past with previous fan groups, has absolutely nothing to do with them!

The match day fundraiser is a rolling fundraiser. It’s not for a specific display. Rolling funds are required for match day materials, and as I have stated in my previous comments, updates will be provided in due course. After the displays that the YellowDivision have put on, I think the YellowArmy have shown that we can be trusted.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the displays 😊

Anyone that knows me will understand why I've not had much time to post recently. So much going on with the Yellow Army, Yellow Division and our football club. A lot of positive things, but it's taken up a lot of my spare time. I should however clarify a couple of things.

The Yellow Division is a fantastic group. It didn't exist until May, and came about from a group of fans that came together in the lead up to the Peterborough home league game. I believe the potential of this group, as it works with the Yellow Army side of things, is something to be excited about. Since early April, the hours, passion, and effort from them is something I'm incredibly proud of, and it's nice to see the group get the recognition it deserves. It's still early days, but there is a desire to not only keep the group going this season, but establish it so it carries on for years to come.

As for the rolling fundraiser, I took the decision to 'hide' donations as it revealed something that is being kept under wraps. The Yellow Army is responsible for the funds donated, to support the Yellow Division and to allow them to get on with what they are doing without concerns around fans money.

Every penny donated since the lead up to the Peterborough display on April 13th until now has come through me. I authorise all spending, but the Yellow Division lads source quotes and materials and they understand the value of fans donations. The money side of things is quite a challenging and stressful responsibility at times, so im glad the YD lads don't have to worry about that, and can get on with producing brilliant displays like we saw on Saturday.

I've recently met with OUSP and OxVox, and we are working together to strengthen relationships between fans groups, and to improve communication so we can be as effective for our club and fanbase as we can be.

Fair enough. As an fyi I’m more likely to donate when I can see the total and see others have donated. Just a weird psychology I guess. Might be one to ponder.

Thanks for everything you guys do. Saturday was awesome

Thanks for your response

Contrary to what LeftSideBoy seemed to suggest I wasn't for one moment criticising the job that these guys and girls are doing, the atmosphere when you put something on is really something, but fans have been burnt before, and while they are/were nothing to do with you, lessons can always be learnt, I think transparency will always be welcomed, especially when it comes to other folks hard earned money.

Keep up the good work.

Well done to you and the yellow division.

How many people are in this group? I guess that hopefully this group will grow through time and I am sure that we all hope that it will go from strength to strength

@Emilio: Wow. Im currently in Marbella and having read your post after a bit of tapas and a few Cruzcampo, I am now sat in bed, feeling rather emotional and incredibly inspired.

Firstly, I would like to extend my most sincere condolences to you for your loss. My Dad (a frequent poster on this forum) is currently experiencing his own health issues, so on a personal level, reading your post, really hit home.

I’m 33 years old (young?) and in my lifetime, I have never felt a connection quite as strong as the one that we have between the fans, the players and Des Buckingham, a manager that I believe can go on to become an Oxford legend - if he isn’t already!

A United Oxford is what we are striving for and after a strong end to last season, Saturday further cemented the foundations for what we want to achieve. Everything that we do as a group is inspired by the memory of fans like your father and the ‘Forever Yellows’ that are no longer with us, the fans that support the players - win or lose, and the generation of supporters that are soon to follow!

There has never been a better time to be an Oxford United fan and the YellowArmy/YellowDivision will do everything within our power to make every occasion as special as possible for the fans, of all ages, that make this club what it is.

We look forward to seeing you again on the 31st when we welcome Preston North End, to Grenoble Road.

For you, and for Emilio Snr!

Let’s do this! 🫡 UTFO! 💛💙
Talking of legends I think @LeftSideBoy is close to attaining legendary status. A massive hats off to you
